My friend owns FFT. I haven't played it. Is it worth my time? I am about 30 hours into FFX so I am wondering.

Hope nevermore to look upon the heavens;
I come to lead you to the other shore,
To the eternal shades in heat and frost.
And thou, that yonder standest, living soul,
Withdraw thee from these people, the dead"

what is the hardest ff you ever played? not countin ff tactics. i say that ff7 is prob the hardest one i played. exp goes up so slow when your at level 70. and chocobo raceing can be a pain in the ass.
I don't regret the decision I made that day. Even now. But...my heart still aches. I..I want to follow my heart. Whether it is right or wrong will be judged by history. - Pahn

Final Fantasy I, all the rest were way too easy and you became overpowered too quickly.

Huh? How did you manage to dicover my evil conspiracy to drive you insane from long distance?! You know what you have to do now, don't you Lu Xun? Forget... forget... forget.Lu Xun wrote:Rowde, you are my post-killer.Everytime I see a post and think of a response, I scroll down and see nearly the exact same thought in your post. heh MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Anyway, back to the topic. The hardest Final Fantasy, in terms of gameplay, for me was Final Fantasy 1. Although, I started to play an emulation of FF II on my friends PC, and it seems like it may take the crown once I have some more time to get into it. Hopefully the remake will make it stateside.
Now, the hardest Final Fantasy for me to play was Final Fantasy IX, because I disliked that game very much. *shakes fist* Of course, I had to play through it, I play almost everything. Plus, I wanted to have a solid foothold on which to base my arguments for why I think that game is so terrible.

Actually, I didn't find any of the FF's to be overly difficult. There were of course some difficult parts, but the games overall were easy. However, I found it almost impossible to play FFX, because....I just couldn't stand it. I don't know. It looked good, but the story wasn't cool to me, and I felt cheapened on FF after playing it. Because of that game, I probably won't play FFXI

Huhzah!
Heh, just so you know Iznoach, you're probably going to be in my RPG when I get RPGMaker 2.
I agree with you on FF X, too. I didn't enjoy the story very much... Except for Rikku. "Go forth and steal for me, my pretty Pretty!" Plus, she directly catered to my wierd eye fetish... but maybe I'm straying into information that you guys really don't care about.
FF X did seem like a huge step in the right direction in terms of gameplay though, at least I think so. I thought that the Sphere Grid was a long overdue breath of fresh air. It did annoy me that it was so restricting at first. It was not as customizable as I had thought at a glance. It was definitely encouraged to move the characters down specified routes since they couldn't go anywhere else. I overcame this of course, by refusing to move 4 of the characters until I got the appropriate locks. I just rotated them into every battle for a turn so they'd get AP, but I didn't use they're AP. Even now, I'm still playing FF X, 196 hours in, so I can customize my weapons and Sphere Grid. I'm in the process of color-coordinating my grid. There is a red section, a blue section, yellow section, and green section. In my game, Kimarhi and Rikku are my "black mages," Auron is the promary "white mage," Lulu and Wakka are my "thieves," and Tidus and Yuna are my "fighters." Anyhow, I really enjoyed the gameplay aspect of FF X. Now we can only hope that the story catches up with the gameplay in FF XII.
On a sidenote, some other issues I'd like to see discussed:
-FF Online being called FF XI.
Okay, sure it uses FF elements, but I don't think this game should have been included with the series. Mind you, I'm simply arguing the name here. For instance, FF Tactics uses many FF elements, but it was not included in the FF series because the gameplay was radically different from the standard FF fare. I think it should have been done the same way with FF Online. The game should have been called "FF Online," not "FF XI."
-FF X, sidestories.
Supposedly there are two sidestory games being developed in Japan for FF X. They are tentatively titled "Yuna" and "Rikku." How do you guys feel about this? Traditionally, FF games have never had true sequels. Heck, most Squaresoft series haven't had true sequels. Why now? I am none to pleased with this, but it should be obvious that I'm already biased because I didn't like FF X's story too much. To me, this just seems to be more indication of Squaresoft's shift from an artistic company, to a money-grubbing corporation...
