The vs. Thread

Please use this thread to discuss 'officer vs. officer' or 'strategist vs. strategist' topics, except in cases where those discussions are based on some kind of in-depth analysis. For example, a discussion about the talents of Guo Jia compared to other strategists who lived longer, or the capabilities of Zhuge Liang weighed against Sima Yi, should take place in a proper topic. A discussion like "Who would win in a duel? Ma Chao or Zhang Fei?" can go here.

Hey, that's a good one. For once it doesn't involve Guan Yu

. Erh, as much as I like Zhou Tai, I don't know enough about him to say he would win. Going by the info I've collected, I'm saying Pang De might have a better chance, but I'm not sure.

I think Zhou Tai would win, only because of how bravely he fought to save Sun Quan that one time.

As a general: Pang De
As a fighter: Zhou Tai

Overall Pang De is better.

I don't believe enough is known about Zhou Tai to effectively decide. All we know is that Zhou Tai was a good fighter and VERY loyal. I suppose Pang De would win, given by the fact that he was a great general.

Wei Strategist Jia Xu vs Wei Strategist Yang Xiu

We're not talking about reputation here (since we all know Cao Cao hated Yang Xiu) but of ability.

I would say Yang Xiu

In both novel and history Jia Xu. Yang Xiu didn't do very much as a strategist, he just got on Cao Cao's nerves. In the novel he had wisdom and intelligence, but I don't see how he was a great strategist. In history he's not even worth talking about.
