To the folks getting logged out, make sure whatever link or bookmark you're clicking to come here has the 's' in https:// protocol ahead of the URL. I've had it happen in the past where I've had the site set to remember me on https:// and coming to the http:// version of the site makes me login again.

Yep! The www and non-www versions of the site under http and the two versions under https all effectively count as four separate websites for login and cookies.
I *think* I now have things set up such that all non-https requests redirect to https, and all non-www requests redirect to www requests. And those were separate changes I made, probably kicking login credentials for some people each time. I imagine this is probably addressed now… maybe.

It seems to log me out whenever I close my internet browser and re-open it. Just had to log back in again after closing it earlier today.

Still having issues with the logging in too.

When I first come to the site, it shows me logged in (with the “new message” icons for each board and all). But as soon as I click any board, it logs me out.
I have
https://www.the-scholars.com/ as my bookmark
Edit:
As a test, I closed my browser and reopened to see if it happens again… and it didn’t. It’s almost like the “Remember me” thing expires after a day or something. Let me know if I can help troubleshoot any other way!

It seems to persist for days on my devices.
Jia, that is the correct domain. Technically this shouldn’t really matter, but sometimes that doesn’t mean much. If someone requests a different domain it should redirect them to the proper domain, and that is where they should have the option to log in.
What browser is being used in these cases?
A couple thoughts:
1) Sometimes browsers can be set to clear cookies after a certain amount of time or when the browser is closed. That could be the issue, but it would probably be consistent with some other websites.
2) Perhaps there could be an issue with the shifting of domains (e.g. a not-like domain for scholars cookies being blocked by a privacy plug-in, tool, or setting, as a sort of cross-site data collection), with cookies stored across multiple domains (from the browser’s perspective). It could be worth clearing temporary files (including cookies/cache). That could be for all scholars domains, or just all temporary files (not a bad idea to do occasionally anyhow, even though it will require logging back into sites). If there is an issue in this sense, this could serve to resolve it.

My phone keeps logging me out of the site but my laptop browser is fine. Strange!

Try the above on your phone?

I use Safari on my iPhone. I haven’t yet visited the site on my laptop but I’ll try that later today.
Today it didn’t log me out, so maybe the changes you made are working now!
I don’t delete cookies when I close the browser. Other sites don’t log me out, from what I can tell. I’ll try clearing the cache and such as you suggested just to make sure there isn’t other stuff going on.
Oh, I do have Firefox Focus running as well which helps block nefarious scripts and such in Safari. Maybe that’s meddling with things. I can set an exception for this URL.

FWIW, I do most of my browsing here in Safari on iOS and it has been well-behaved, even with aggressive privacy tools in place, and I didn’t even bother to carve out exceptions for my own domains. But that exception is also worth checking (and I would be curious if it was involved), and I also don’t do any weird stuff on these websites. One way I can imagine it creating issues is if it uses a privacy mode, as those sessions are compartmentalized. Another possible site difference is that cookie handling here is very by-the-books and basic, and doesn’t involve measures that prominent websites may use to get around common privacy options people may use. But in a sense, that should also be a feature, as it should be the sort of handling those tools normally wouldn’t block unless someone got aggressive in options.
