If you enjoy that Balkan-sounding vocal inflections type of music, I highly recommend the OST of Xena the Warrior Princess. I watched this TV show when I was young and I don't have memories of enjoying its OST, but like 2 years ago someone in a reddit post suggested its OST (which reminded me this show). So nostalgia coupled with curiosity, I went to have a listen and oh boy was it an awesome (re)discovery. It has become my all time favorite OST. Very good and inspirational.

"Composer Joseph LoDuca wrote the theme and incidental music. The theme music was developed from the traditional Bulgarian folk song "Kaval sviri", sung by the Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir. The original "Kaval sviri" can be heard where Xena races into battle in the Hercules episode "Unchained Heart." The musical score of Xena: Warrior Princess was critically well received and garnered seven Emmy nominations for LoDuca".

I remember that show, used to watch it wherenever they aired it on our antenna, since those kind of shows were very rarely shown on outside of cable. I'm going to check out the OST soon.

I've been going through a bunch of random CD's that my last place of work threw out. There's been a some hits and some misses... some Thelonius Monk which was some kind of bootleg, I think? Afterwards, checked out Yuke Shire single, which definitely deserves a re-listen. I saw a lot of merch for Deströyer 666 and never really understood the hype, but man, the album Phoenix Rising was fan-freaking-tastic. I absolutely adore the kind of black metal that they play. Haven't dared to peek at the lyrics yet, though.

Now as the last listen for this evening popped into the CD tray Злые Куклы and their album At The End Of Days. I had never heard of this group before and if I hadn't done some snooping around the internet, would have never guessed that these guys were based in Israel, since they sing in Russian. But so far, the album has actually been pretty good! Some kind of mellow folk-rock I think.

Got about 50 CD's to go on the stack that they gave away at my former job, so gonna keep updating whenever I'm listening at the PC.

En tahdo nähdä, mutta näen sen väkisin

En ymmärrä, mutta kuulen sen väkisin
