These are simply fantastic. And the quote, earlier, bringing up the set shared some time ago, also sparked in my memory. I remember originally seeing them and being thoroughly impressed.

The camera bokeh-like out-of-focus region on the Zhao Yun portrait, capturing the scene behind, is really creative.

Do you make them for fun? Or are you using them for the likes of a game mod?

I didn't made those, they were found on chinese, korean and japanese forums. I use the japanese characters for Nobunaga's Ambition : Sphere of Influence. I don't own any PC version of the RTK games, so I can't use my huge collection of portraits. So I collect them for fun. I have many thousand portraits for the Three Kingdoms of China, Sengoku Jidai, Three Kingdoms of Korea and the Xiongnu. :pika:

Oh, I wish haha but no, far from it. Most files are portraits from the games, but there's also event artwork and music folders from the games among other stuff, there's TXT documents of notes I've taken, etc. So not just portraits. But mostly portraits. I have many hundreds of portraits that were customized though, that I have found on asian forums or blogs. Some I have made myself, but they are few.

Here's a couple random portraits that can serve as profile picture/avatar (looking at you James) :pika: :

Couple more portraits. :pika:

Image
What if Guan Yu accepted to serve Cao Cao?

Image
What if Zhang Fei went to serve Sun Jian and then helped his son Sun Ce in his conquest?

Image
An old Zhou Yu or Lu Xun?

Image
A less evil caricature of Lu Bu, but still has this might about him.

Image
Lu Bu's fictional warrior-daughter, Lu Lingqi maybe?

Image
What if Sun Ce lived to proclaim himself emperor of Sun Wu?

Image
What if Wei Yan wasn't that dumb beastlike out-of-the-jungle warrior and an actual competent commander?

Image
That's a Yan Baihu I wouldn't want to meet on the battlefield!

Image
Another more moderate portraits distancing itself from the usual cartoonish caricature of Dong Zhuo.
