Re: Dynasty Warriors 8
Anyone still playing through this? Upon reading that DW9 may be on the way next year I decided to dust off the PS4 and DW8 again, so much to micro-manage each level though I think I miss the old days of grab a warrior and leap into a battle. ^^

Lol I've had DW8 in my Steam library from months and just now started playing it...and now they announce DW9. Sigh. I'll never catch up lolIain wrote:Anyone still playing through this? Thoughts from an Adult DW Fan
I recently picked up DW8 XL - Complete Edition for Playstation 4, and it's the first DW game I've played in quite some time. Yes, I am late to the game! I was first introduced to the series with DW3 back in college, so it was like catching up with an old friend - an old friend who now has a nice car, and is now brimming with confidence. I have to say that I really enjoy the game and think that it is one of the best games in the series, both in terms of switchable weaponry, fun stages, and fun little elements like Ambition Mode to grind through for fun and profit. The massive roster and pickup-and-play nature of playing through musou games makes it a pretty good game for a working adult like me. And while I don't have nearly as much time to play games as I used to, it's nice to load this one up from time to time. Looking forward to DW9!

So I started a new DyW8 Ambition Mode game (I went with Ma Dai, as I wanted someone not-so-serious). Who was the boss of the very first stage, who promptly joined me? Cao Cao.
And that's how I broke the three kingdoms before they even started.

Unless I specifically say otherwise, assume I am talking about historical Three Kingdoms, and not the novel.

Re: Dynasty Warriors 8
I recently restarted playing DW8 again. For some reason, only until now I realise how unrealistic (or advanced) its battlefield setting is ... with all those fancy traps, like cannon, fans, etc.
