I don't exactly have one to share, but I think it is worth noting that JSTOR has generously decided to expand their free access of articles to 100 articles per month or something insane along these lines. This seems to be in response to COVID-19. This is probably a good time to get in some additional reading.

Looks like most resource other than guoxue.com could not survive the test of time...

EDIT: Rafe de Crespign's works can be found at https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu ... 3f3a72b2c2

Yeah… :/

As I’ve been rummaging through code and resources on KMA—fixing bugs, rewriting code, queries—I’ve been checking references and links and finding very little has survived the test of time. For some time I guess KMA was just another source of so many dead links.

It is kind of sad. But I am imagining there are many new resources out there, too. It is nice to have already seen a number from members.

This might actually be seen as an opportunity for KMA to host those lost resources, like how Threekingdoms.com has been hosting the Brewitt-Taylor translation of SGZZ along with Rafe de Crespigny's commentaries for years.

I’m inclined to make a new project of the novel online. I think I mentioned somewhere (?) that I have already actually put together a largely functional online version of the novel which features integration with the officer encyclopedia, spurred by a period of time where threekingdoms.com went offline, but I never launched it because they came back online. I can see there are presently a couple options (a couple folks who have uploaded the old threekingdoms.com HTML files and a Wiki project), but I can think of some fun opportunities for incorporating the encyclopedia and presenting it in a way that focuses exclusively on the reading experience.

Sure but his "Biographical Dictionary of Later Han to the Three Kingdoms" book cost between $500 and $900, which is insane and probably way out of reach of 99.99% of people in this community (or any community).

EDIT : Okay it is just my bad luck, I just noticed that there is a lot of his other works that you can download for free. I just happened to have clicked on the one that is costing a lung and a kidney on the black market lol

EDIT 2 : Is there a book for "Official titles of the former late Han Dynasty"?

Pages 1216-1241 of that dictionary have a section on "THE ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE OF LATER HAN" plus an index of "CHINESE TITLES AND ENGLISH-LANGUAGE RENDERINGS", or you can check Hans Bielenstein's The Bureaucracy of Han Times.

"The Government of the Qin and Han Empires" by Michael Loewe and "The Bureaucracy of Han Times" by Hans Bielenstein are both very affordable.

You can get the first in paperback for £10 on amazon and the second for a moderately more pricey £25.
Have a question about a book or academic article before you buy it? Maybe I have it!
Check out my library here for a list of Chinese history resources I have on hand and my tumblr to see if I have reviewed it!
