Re: Sun Fin's Book Reviews
Introduction by Barbara Hendrischke Themes: Yellow Turbans Overview: Before her translation Hendrischke includes an introduction, outlining the TPJ’s place in history. Noting that it wasn’t one of the texts that shaped Chinese institutions and so was largely ignored until the 20th century where sch...

Re: Sun Fin's Book Reviews
Sporadically I've continued posting these reviews on tumblr. Since SoSZ went down every review I've posted has been on a chapter from The Scripture of Great Peace: the Taiping Jing and the Beginnings of Daoism by Barbara Hendrischke . I posted a review previously about an article by B. J. Mansvelt B...

Re: Tea
Does mint tea count? Seriously? I don't drink tea. Which upsets my congregation who are just dying to say, "More tea vicar?" But because people were so determined that I must drink tea or coffee I've started drinking herbal teas because doing so seems like the only way I can convince some ...

Re: King Arthur Literature
Thank you for the recommendations! I'm currently not in a King Arthur phase but I'm sure it will come around again, these things normally do and I'll bare them in mind for when I do. Whilst I was studying for ordination I got accustomed to reading 15th & 16th century English, but I suspect 11th ...

Re: UK Politics 2020-Cummings lockdown scandal
Feels so long ago since Dominic Cummings was on our news day in and day out. Been through a few PMs since then I was talking to someone last night who was lamenting the current state of British politics, and while I'm not thrilled, at least Johnson and Cummings are gone. -Feel the government is pla...

Re: Favorite Television Shows
Have I Got News For You and Would I Lie to You are the only panel shows I watch (well I guess The Apprentice, You're Fired, but that's a slightly different genre), but I never miss an episode of either of them. I even got to see an episode of HiGNFY filmed a year or two ago!

Re: Sites to purchase Ancient Chinese works (books/dvds)
Abebooks is a great place to look for obscure books. Every now and then I've found something on there I've not been able to locate anywhere else!
