From what I've read Cao Cao only had Five sons, but I've been told he had twenty-five. I would like to know all their names and if possible a brief description.

I certainly don't know. The numbers just keep getting larger. I hope someone can give the names on all of Cao Cao's sons so we know its true.

All I really know is that I read an article claiming that he acknowledged more than thirty children by different women. Yow.

Well, from what I have read, there were 7. Cao Ang, Cao Pi, Cao Zhang, Cao Zhi, Cao Xiong, Cao Chong, and Cao Yu. Cao Ang (175) died early.Gave up his horse to protect Cao Cao and died in doing so. Cao Pi (187) - Ruler of Wei. Wasn't he the first emperor? It seems that he was a very cruel one. Cao Zhi (192), a poet who was fond of wine and women. Cao Chong (no idea) was very intelligent.... solving math problems and that sort of thing. Cao Zhang (190), a warrior. Said that he used to pay for the funerals for all those who died in each battle he fought (?). Cao Xiong (195) - dont know much except that he was a bit sickly? Cao Yu (219) - no idea except that he had a grandson named Cao Huan. I have no idea who's mother was who.

I suppose he had more sons..... but 30?

I know(vaguely) about 25 sons, cause someone once mentioned them all at soc, but I can't tell you anyting about them beyond one of them died real young, and was(potentially) the smartest of all cao's children. I believe his name was Cao Chong.

I notice that a couple names are repeated. Ju, Jun, Jing. Did Cao Cao name some of his sons the same or is this a typo?

Also I thought Cao Yu was Cao Pi's son. Was he Cao Cao's or did they each have a son named Yu?
