Highest Combo on any DW Game

Unread postby Li Ruiyue » Wed Apr 20, 2005 8:37 pm

I thought we had a thread like this but I couldn't find one after searching the DW forum. However if someone finds the thread then lock this thread.

Anyways, what is your highest combo that you've achieved in any of the DW games?

On DW3, it was 255 (the max) with Nu Wa. However, I used Action Replay codes to get unlimited Musou.
On DW4, I got 214 with Ma Chao at the Battle of Chang Ban this morning. I was on the Shadow Steed and used the 60 second-long unlimited Musou item (Liu Chan) to produce a huge combo against several peons.

I just got 223 with Lu Meng (someone I rarely, if ever, play with) yesterday. I was using his 2nd weapon, and its weight was Light. I just repeatedly did the first four hits of his normal combo.

How in the world do you guys get that many combo hits??? that sounds impossible. I've only got 24 because of DW5 evalution attack.

To get high combos did you just trap them and keep them pinned in a wall or what. I never tried to get a high combo. My best is probably from 20-50.

I got something in the 100's range without cheats: Ma Chao's mounted musou in DW4, Chang Ban. Simply pick up the musou 60 seconds and hold down a button! I couldn't keep track of exactly how many hits I did because I hit a crowd of enemies with it. Needless to say there were a lot of arrows left over after I was done.

I was Gan Ning and I was facing Ling Tong after I had killed his father. Just a note. But if you kill Ling Cao, then his son Ling Tong will become super strong. But somehow I had trapped him in a corner and I managed to dish out 147 combo with my bodyguard.

Before I got my 147 combo on Ling Tong I thougt that getting a high level combo would get you like a uber weapon or item. But after I comboed Ling Tong, all I got was +10 dim sum and a sore thumb.

I'm probably somewhere in the 0-20 range. That's probably because I never really tried to get a high combo.

P.S. do better items pop up when you get good combos? Just wondering.

It's easy in DW3, because you can stick with your normal attacks, then use the 5th charge, and since in DW3, they don't recover in mid-air, they'll just fall back down harmlessly. You can just use the 5th charge, wait for them to come back down, and combo them. Simple!

DW3: I've gotten about 24, because I was getting +4 Attack/+4 Defense bonuses.
DW4: 20 combo. Use Gan Ning's 3rd charge rush all the way, twice. I'm sure Yue Ying does way more, though.
