I used to own a lot of physical copies like DVD's and CD's (and I mean a lot, to a point where I would stash half of my media to a closet), but during these past few years I've let go of about 3/4 of them. I'm planning to sell or give away the rest of the things I own in the future and making digital copies of the things I really want to save. Most of this is because I want to be able to move with only a backpack full of things, and streaming gives me the option that I can live with a laptop or heck, even a tablet. Also, as my parents are hoarders, I've got a voice in my head saying that giving everything away is just better than owning copies of a movie I've already watched.

For me, streaming content, be it music, TV, or video games, is ideal in the near future. As I'm planning to own as little as possible, streaming content from a tablet or phone sounds pretty good. And as I live in Finland, the network connection is stable and fast pretty much everywhere I go.

En ymmärrä, mutta kuulen sen väkisin

*tries to provoke Finland to invade UK to sort out our internet*

I think Jake has a point about storage being important part of streaming's appeal. With houses getting smaller, not having physical copies of something but having them in an online form. As an athmatic, not having things that can get dusty and need cleaning doesn't hurt either

Definitely, I still love owning CDs but my wife doesn't like me buying new ones as they already take up a lot of space which isn't something we have tons of currently!
Have a question about a book or academic article before you buy it? Maybe I have it!
Check out my library here for a list of Chinese history resources I have on hand and my tumblr to see if I have reviewed it!
