I thought Mao Jie was slandered by a friend and supporter of Cao Zhi's and then retired later from government when Cao Cao refused to help him?
I've a brave warrior in my army. Shen Ai is his name, and he can slay this Hua Xiong.

Wei has no more famous commanders, Shen Ai takes lead of the vanguard!

Xu Yuan wrote:Poor guy, a bad decision on Cao Cao's part. True it didn't cost him much but Cui Yan never meant any harm. Who couldn't help but be in poor spirits after being imprisoned for a slightly poor choice of words. Was he not right in saying that there would be changes soon?

What happened to this Yang Xun fellow, out of curiosity?

Yes. However it is the sort of words that can sound really bad during such a tense time and get taken out of context.

Think he vanishes from history, I seriously doubt the Cui Yan episode helped his career at all.

Something like that, Ding Yi was among several who accused Mao Jie of treason.Mao Jie was imprisoned but then released without being cleared or charged so retired and died soon after.

I was wondering what happened to him, as he disappears from mention after like Ch20 in the SGYY.

What happened to Ren Jun? And Lu Qian?

Apparently he died a few years after the Yuan kids were beaten. It doesn't mention how.

It helps if we know from what point your referring to.

Ren Jun died in 204 and was greatly mourned by Cao Cao. Lu Qian governed for 30 years in Taishan, became Inspector of Xu under Cao Pi, he was much admired, and Cao Rui before his death around 240.

In the roster from where? I have nothing so far but might help me track down if I know what information you have on him and where you got it

In the Moss Roberts translation of Three Kingdoms, chapter 48, right after Cao Cao gets Liu Fu kills it says in the detail of generals to their stations, " Naval and Land forces were divided into units under flags of five colors: yellow for the naval center, commanded by Mao Jie and Yu Jin; red for the forward, under Zhang He;black for the rear under Lu Qian; green for the left, under Wen Ping; white for the right, under Lu Tong..."

Hmm, it could be one of those made up for the novel guys, but these usually serve the purpose of getting killed to make someone else look better.

Is there any chance it was meant to be Li Tong and there was an error? U and I are right next to each other on a keyboard. Anyone have a Chinese copy that can check the characters?
