If I knew the hotkeys I'd be well enough to type at this stage. But VSS is very mouse-intensive, so I'll wait a bit longer...

Hey, "humor" is a Greek term, not a Chinese one. I only footnote Chinese terms. You're responsible for your own Indo-European words.

The European notion of humors is quite different anyway. In Europe they used the hot/cold. wet/dry system so air wouldn't have been a humor.

I understand the difference, but it's the closest term/concept there is. I adopted the vague phrase "a malignant humor", following Brewitt-Taylor's translation of the novel.

Well. I plugged the portable hard drive into the LG Blue Ray player and it read the files just fine. The images are just great up on the big TV screen and the LG player reads the format with no trouble.

Not that it's a terribly big deal, but if there's any concern, I'd suggest something other than 'humor'. The vast majority of the audience viewing the series is not going to understand the translation and if they do question it, will probably assume it to be a typo (possibly for tumor). I would value accessibility over strict and obscure literary accuracy.

I suppose this small matter could also be addressed with a footnote?

Either way, I've recently finished episode 40. I like to watch an episode when I get a chance to exercise in the morning. This fine translation has contributed considerably to my personal health. :)

And fantastic job, everyone, on all the work! I'm really enjoying it.

Indeed. Isn't such a "typo" the origin of Cao Cao mentioned as having a brain tumor in the first place?

Another suggestion is to just say he has some serious gas, too many beans for dinner last night.

I suppose this small matter could also be addressed with a footnote?

Those footnotes get long fast!

Ok, I may consider changing it in v.2.

I honestly like it as humor. :(

@Lady Wu - With my track record of wanting to make things sound more 'Americanized', or otherwise understandable, it may seem strange but I like the fact that it reads as such.

I'm sending you a PM regarding what we talked about at the Jiang-Hu forum.
