Ryorin's Writings

Unread postby Shu Ryorin » Tue Mar 23, 2004 5:52 am

This is a poem I wrote last year that I just found. I had forgotten about it! Anyway, the reason it has a wheel and a serpent in it is because it's influenced by the Wheel of Time book series and that's how they describe time in the series. Yes, I was obsessed.

Time

Time is a wheel,
Ever turning, never pausing,
Until the day of the second coming.
Time is the eternal serpant,
Always biting its own tail,
Never stopping, always going.
Time is the dimension of unreality,
That is our reality.
Time is the chain that binds us to this world.
Our experiences and our existance,
All are aspects of time.
Time is creation, it is no god
Spend your precious moments wisely,
Or be it your existance that lays in waste.

Hmm...I think I'll revise it. It's kind of weird, but the idea works. Tell me what you think.

It is a good poem. But it could be alittle longer, but still very good.

New poem:

Reality

What is reality?
Is it what we know?
Man sees and hears, feels and thinks,
And says,"
This is reality."
But is reality only our experiences?
Our thoughts? Our memories?
Surely, these are parts of our reality.
But is ours the true reality?
Or does it go deeper than that?
Our perceptions, our reality, is based on time.
But is time the true reality?
Perhaps it's within a greater reality,
In a greater dimension,
With no time, with all time,
Beyond our mortal comprehension.
And perhaps there dwells greater beings,
Waging an eternal war over our immortal souls.
Maybe that is the true reality.
This is, of course, only speculation.
But then again, perhaps not.

Please tell me what you think.

:D Very good poems... :D sincerely.

Maybe we only see a part of the reality... perhaps, when we have a pure look at things, we discover so many things that we never understand.
We have to live and experience the reality... and then it will give its secret and ours, perhaps the same one.

Your poems show that well, we can't hide behind words to live.

:D And I'm glad you share your art with us, Shu Ryorin. :D Please continue if you feel like. :D

Binding oneself to oneself and to Universe by Ki,
The streak of one's fibre and the ray of one's soul
Become the pure and divine mirror of each being
In a path without fear nor violence."

Wow, I'm on a roll. :) Thanks, Lord Ma-koto.^_^ This poem's inspired(at least in part) by Seven-at-One's thread in the Literature, Academics, and Philosophy Forum. You might call this "Speculation on Speculating."

What If

Why do we always wonder, "What if this, what if that?"
Why must man live in a constant state,
Of speculation of the past?
What is done, is done,
What is fact, is fact.
What if there were no "What if"s?
Would we ask, What if there were?
When things cannot change,
Why do we ask, What if things could?
When we cannot alter circumstances,
Why do we "What if" the worst?
What if man had wings?
What if there is a reason we don't?
We doen't know what would happen,
If "What if"s were true.
If a tyrant never lived,
Would have you?
Would a worse one have appeared?
Would the world be an utopia?
Speculating answers leads to more questions,
Wondering "Why" leads in circles.
Why do we "What if?"
What if I knew?
Does it even matter?
What if it doesn't?

I'm not sure about the ending... please tell me what you think.

Yeah, heard them at your house, very nice lil sis, keep it up and u will become a great poet :)
Clutching my cure, I tightly lock the door
I try to catch my breath again
I hurt much more, than any time before
I have no options left again

Yep.^-^ I particularly like Reality, too. Here's another one. Is it just me, or do these just keep getting longer?

Alive?

If one asks the question,
What is alive?
Many would answer,
Or, at least, try to.
One might say,
If it moves, it is alive.
But does a stone not move if thrown?
Does a river not run?
Does a cloud not fly?
Surely, these things are not alive.
Another might say,
If it grows, it is alive.
But do moutains not grow?
Do streams not widen?
Do empires not expand?
Surely, you do not mean that these things are alive?
Yet another would come,
And sagely say,
If it can die, it must live.
But can an idea not die?
Can a dream not wilt?
Can a memory not fade?
Are these alive?
One might answer,
In their own way,
Yes.
An idea, a dream, a memory.
All of these can move and fly.
All of these can grow and change.
All of these can wilt and die.
All of these can live.

I should probably work on that.... What do you think?
