Rhiannon's Mix

Unread postby Rhiannon » Sat Nov 26, 2011 10:48 pm

Alright, so I have two old threads with mostly broken links, and I thought I'd start sharing my art again here. This'll be a mix of everything: art, writing, photography, whatever creative really hits my head that I end up wanting to share.

My usual tools of the trade are:
  • Canon Rebel XTi (currently broken)
  • Wacom Graphire3 Tablet
  • PaintTool SAI
  • GIMP
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements (v2)

Also, if you want to see my full portfolio, you can check Artician. I still have a fullish one on deviantArt, but I am starting to migrate things over. It's a very slow process, however, as I am reviewing my entire gallery of work, including adding watermarks, and I don't have much time for that with other things going on.

This thread will most likely be image intensive. ;)

Lately, I've gotten on a digital painting kick. I've never painted in my life, and I'm still learning digital art. These pieces are still works in learning and expression, but I think they're a good start. Made with only the water brush tool in SAI, and personal reference photos.

You paint very good. At first glance, I thought a professional had done it (not sarcastic).

I like the second one as well. It has some very good colour and depth in it.
I've a brave warrior in my army. Shen Ai is his name, and he can slay this Hua Xiong.

Wei has no more famous commanders, Shen Ai takes lead of the vanguard!

Even a commoner on the street knows what Shen Ai is thinking!

Both are good pieces of artwork but, I prefer the woodpecker. I like the pastel feel that the colors give off. It looks like something you would see on someones wall.

Thank you all. I haven't had a chance to paint more lately, but I'm really itching to try some landscapes and different methods for "painting" like this. I just finished a humanities class, and so my brain is in high-art mode, especially wanting to kind of develop or play with an impressionistic style.
