He charged into the lines at the speed of light,
and it seemed that dragoon was in flight,
he saved the lord child while haveing to fight,
it was a shame he was killed by his wife.

the last line was a bit from a folk tale.

Here's the first poem I ever wrote. I wrote it off the top of my head a couple months ago for fun and I doubt its structured correctly, but its a decent first try at poetry.

Look down through the past,
To find a warrior, who against Lu Bu could last,
You wouldn't find one who would dare,
To fight the rider of Red Hare,
Lu Bu would slay them all,
Never could one stand as tall.

That is pretty good for being thought of in your head. The meter in the second verse is a slight bit long, but I don't see an alternative. Maybe putting a breath (,) located in bold:

"......to find a warrior, who against Lu Bu, could last......."

Here's one that my character in this site's freestyle RPG recently wrote:

world locked in chaos
certainty exists no more
outside life and death--
morning sun illuminates
just what may be visible

Very rough...sort of a clumsy tanka...in a way... :?

Oi. I never liked poetry. But somehow, I always wrote few epics.

Ignored
Forced into the shadow,
Watching those who dwell in light
Searching, always searching
But never finding
Always silently observing the world,
Opinions too offensive to share
Forced to be bottled up within the darkness, her only shelter now
She is
Ignored

Actually, my friend wrote it ^_^;;;, so credit to her!

I write poems often but the site of where I had them is no more, plus I lost my collection that I wrote in a textbook. I will write a new one now, my style is depressive free verse.

Never Hold back....

Never hold back....
Let it all out
If one were not to it would be regretful.

Muster up the courage
Feel the sand beneath your feet
Seek the eye of the storm
Let on the heat of the oppresion.

Take it all
Give it back 10 times fold.
Endure all the pain
Suffer....
Make them pay.

They see you as a freak show
When in reality it's because they fear something of good nature
Let the pyro burn up in your soul
Let the flames ignite in your heart
Let your eyes burn of indecent fury.

Insanity rains....
The intense screaming and blood spilling.
You'll end up in amiss, in an abyss
As long as you hold back....

Here's some of mine:

An RTK poem.
The Battle of Chi Bi
Cao Cao held his spear up high,
As the battle would seem to be a tie.
“Wu will fall before my might,
Wu will fall this very night.”

Not RTK, but hey it's sitll cool, lol.
Soldier's Eyes
I look into a young soldier’s eyes.
I see fearful, reckless, untrained eyes.
I see a young boy, barely a man.
I see his brothers, his sisters.
His mother, father, wife, and children
But the worst thing is…
I see his eyes because I just cut his helmet off…
At the neck.

How about another RTK one?

ZHANG LIAO VERSUS MA CHAO
A man rides out on horseback.
His cloak streaming behind him,
Like the waves of the blue sea.

The man slowly descends,
From atop his horse.
Grasping a large lance in hand,
He throws the cloak into the wind.

Uttering the words,
“I am Zhang Liao,
I shall be your opponent!”
He swings his lance,
And poises to strike.

As he looks at the soldiers,
A man walks out.
The bronze head of a Tiger,
His helmet.
The green scales of a Dragon,
His armor.

He says swinging his lance,
Over his head with no fear.
“I am Ma Chao,
Son of Ma Teng,
4th of the 5 Tiger Generals!
And I shall be your opponent!”

Zhang Liao runs,
Towards Ma Chao.
His lance set to strike,
But Ma Chao moves in sync.

The two warriors pass each other…
Ma Chao smiles,
As Zhang Liao falls on the first bout.
