Well, mental health is rarely talked about here. People just never bring it up in any serious way, it is very rarely discussed in families or in schools or between friends.
In fact, about a year ago I tried telling my university that I was mentally "fatigued", I really couldn't bring myself to say that I was depressed and the person responsible almost laughed and then proceeded to scold me saying something like: "What do you expect me to do about that?".
People who visit a psychiatrist keep that a secret from almost everyone else, it bears quite a considerable social stigma.
And since people here have been dying mostly as a result of war and not because of something related to mental illnesses (suicide), it is usually not perceived as an urgent problem. Depression is generally thought of as being a "First World" problem only.
Who the hell do you think I am?!

I've had a very busy Christmas period (I guess that shouldn't be a surprise to the guy training to be a vicar? ) which has culminated in my New Years plans being cancelled as I've gone down will an illness bug. As a result my posting has been sporadic but today I will have some time to catch up on all the activity I've missed!

Sorry about the bug (I have a cold today in sympathy  ), hope you have had some joy amidst the Christmas work and illness.

Glad you had a great festive period. By cold standards, this has been quite mild so sounds like your having the worst of it, hope you feel better soon
