Japan is really impressing me with their advancement in robotics. Take this article -

A humanoid robot actually works at a department store. A few months back, I read an article about a hotel opening that will have part of their desk staff (the ones you check in and check out at) be manned by robots. They look quite realistic in photos and the like, and I wonder how they seem in person. I can't even imagine meeting anything like that here in the States.
