I consider myself a fun-loving person but I've learnt that you can still be responsible and have fun at the same time!! Indeed, live for the moment enjoying it as if it were your last, but does that really mean you have to ensure that it actually, in fact, might be your last??

I do not mean to point fingers or anything, I just want to point out that I always encourage sensible but fun behaviour!! I suppose, for a lot of younger people, it's impossible to have fun an be sensible at the same time because they, for some reason, equate acting in a responsible and mature manner with being boring!!

To go back to your original post I commented on, that sort of attitude is silly to me!! What happens if that girl gets pregnant or if you caught something potentially permanent or even fatal from her or vice versa?? How many moments are you going to be living for then?? I don't really think it's admirable to wake up beside somebody not even knowing their name especially when there is the possibility she could be pregnant with your child!!

Yes, I love going out and having a good time, I'm young and in my prime and I'm perhaps not going to get a chance to do so in later years, doesn't mean I'm going to half the amount of time I have left to have fun by acting irresponsibly and doing something incredibly stupid that a) I don't remember what I did or how i got home (which actually miffs me a little when I forget things if I've surpassed my limit a little, I javen't spent money in going out to forget what I did); and b) that could saddle me with some that, if I had acted so silly in the first place, I'd clearly not be responsible enough to deal with in an effective manner!!

And the reason my pictures are of me when I'm out is because I do not own a camera and any picture I have taken of me is done by somebody I am socialising with!!
If becoming enlightened or an intellectual means I must become arrogant and coldly cynical about the world around me then I'd gladly remain a fool for the rest of my life!!

I'm Out4Marriage!!!Are You??

It is a CHOICE!!

Alcohol has the propensity to make people do stupid things. One thing Ive found is that when I first started drinking, I always played it super safe. Usually just drank with buddies where none of us had to drive and we could crash where we fell down at. Now that Im a bit older and a little more experienced, I am more in tune with my own limitations. Its very important to be in tune with your limitations to avoid stupidity.

My favorite has to be El Terremoto or Earthquake in english it's a type of white wine mixed with vanilla ice cream and pineapple juice (hmmmm yummy!) also there's this bar I go to in Dominican Republic where they serve an alternate version of the drink which is some type of very hard tequila which they light up sometimes and once you have taken the shot they spin you around very fast for a few seconds lol it's very interesting!

Its official... i no longer enjoy blue raspberry vodka and lemonade. Long day of being hungover as hell. Overdid it a little bit. Lost too many games of beer pong, got a break when i dominated in speed quarters, then some stupid game called chandeliers destroyed me. Chugging mixed drinks sucks.

I'm not a big drinker, and when I do drink, I keep it fairly simple. I's likes my screwdrivers.

I do love Hpnotic, as well.

In true Manchurian fashion I'm a pretty heavy drinker (at least for an Asian guy).

My poison of choice is vodka with soda and lime. The lime eliminates the bitterness of the soda. And the lack of sugar means you don't dehydrate as quickly as say, a mixer with sugar.

Otherwise Scotch and Dry (Ginger Ale). This is a weird one, I don't like Ginger Ale, but god they're awesome combined together.

I can and will do any shot/shooter that doesn't include aniseed, I hate the flavour. So things like chatreuse or absinthe are out.

I generally hate milky drinks, not because they taste bad (though things like vodka mudshakes are foul), but because they stop me from drinking efficiently, since they fill you up and can make you sick/throw up if you mix and match too much.

Big fan of sparkling, both cheap and nasty ones and good ones.

Uuummm... not TOO big a fan of beer but cold crisp lager is okay, there's a few Australian brands I drink. Not too much of an ale man. And I absolutely cannot stand beer that is warm, ugh. Sorry poms. as I said as long as not milky or aniseed flavoured I'll be okay. Long Islands, Mojitos, all the stables are good. (Oh god except Bloody Mary, yeah that's nasty). Not a big fan of tonic water.

Straight spirits, fan of vodka, scotch. Not big on gin and rum. (Granted I've been told I've never had good rum before).

I read something interesting the other day. The reason asians are biologically less tolerant of alcohol than europeans are, because in ancient times water wasn't exactly safe to drink. As a result Europeans mainly fermented theirs into watered down wine, whilst Asians mainly boiled their water. Hence thousands of years later Asians generally speaking drink less. But this is generally obviously, alcohol tolerance can be built up with relative ease.

edit: I currently have exams (hence procrastination in the form of discovering this forum and making like 15 posts a day) but once this weekend arrives I have parties lined up all three days and by the grace of god I do plan to wake up at some point on somebody's roof and not be able to recall how I got there or the whereabouts of my shoes.

This has happened to my friend two months ago and ever since that time I've been trying to replicate it.

I drink Magner's Cider when I'm at the pub.

Otherwise I'll go for a nice Port or Black Sambuca. Although I did discover Rum Punch and Absolute Vodka (mango) with orange juice when I was in Barbados.

But yeah I echo SunXia, drink in moderation. I've been tipsy for sure, who hasn't who has tried alcohol and tested their limits. But I've never been in an unsafe position when I've been experimenting and I've never drunk so much I couldn't remember what I've been doing or that my decisions have been to face palm worthy. I mean sure I jumped in a pool fully clothed, but I did have the sense to take my phone out of my pocket first.

Yeah not so much anymore, I've switched from alcohol to less legal substances...better effect and no worrying about a hangover...although I do get the occasional heart burn.

I'd still drink socially but the guy I normally hang out with isn't a drinker either so it doesn't happen all that often.
And yes I still dislike the taste of beer.
