I recall INTJ's are Strategists, if not Masterminds.

INTJ's are Rational Masterminds. I usually test as INTJ, myself. The most recent one pegged me as an Inspector ISTJ, even though I barely made into ISTJ at 1% difference I usually tell others I'm an INTJ since it's the most common result.

Depending on the website, the descriptions are different. It's interesting, I've read a bit about INTJ's and also about Xu Huang and I believe Xu Huang was one... He had few friends, was a good leader but chose instead to follow a great leader, he was analytical, organized, and determined...

When I had taken this test in the past, I always came out as an INTJ, but the last time I took it I came out as an INFJ, which is interesting.

Buried several years and pages back, there's a link to a larger site with many different personality tests, and one of them is the Jung Explorer Test, which gives you scores both for what you are, and what you would prefer to be:

Actualized type: INFJ
(who you are)
Introverted (I) 67.74% Extroverted (E) 32.26%
Intuitive (N) 58.82% Sensing (S) 41.18%
Feeling (F) 51.11% Thinking (T) 48.89%
Judging (J) 60.61% Perceiving (P) 39.39%

INFJ - "Author". Strong drive and enjoyment to help others. Complex personality. 1.5% of total population.

Preferred type: INTJ
(who you prefer to be)
Introverted (I) 55.56% Extroverted (E) 44.44%
Intuitive (N) 55.26% Sensing (S) 44.74%
Thinking (T) 52.27% Feeling (F) 47.73%
Judging (J) 69.7% Perceiving (P) 30.3%

INTJ - "Mastermind". Introverted intellectual with a preference for finding certainty. A builder of systems and the applier of theoretical models. 2.1% of total population.

According to this, I'm an INFJ who tries to be more of an INTJ. It's interesting, in that the balance/struggle between thinking and feeling is something I'm keenly aware of. The test also says I'm attracted to extroverts, which makes sense - my ex-wife and my current girlfriend are both very social and extroverted people.

Reading through everyone else's old results, one thing that struck me is that the INTJ description is a great description of how I behave at work or when I'm engaged in some sort of project, while the INFJ is more descriptive of my personal relationships and attitudes towards social issues. I still think that really the balance swings more towards T than F, since I'm incredibly detail-oriented and won't give credence to intuitive "knowledge" unless I have data/research/experience to back it up. But it makes sense that I straddle that line.

Anyone else take this particular version?

Liu Yuante, what was the site you took it at?

How long ago was that?

People definitely change some. I used to always be INTJ, now it seems I am on the line between INTJ and INFJ. Apparently experience has taught me to be more empathic? Or maybe has just let me flesh out what used to be purely theoretical in my heads.

Long enough ago for there to be a change, then. Sometimes different tests spit out slightly different results, as well. It looks like your Judging % is fairly low, meaning that the gap between where you fall on that scale is tighter/more blurred than the others. That side tested as stronger, but not by as much. So you might find on taking the test again, that it swings back to Perceiving/Sensing again.

You probably have a fairly even balance of those two elements, so you kind of straddle the line there, similar to me on the Feeling/Thinking bit.

What the heck. I don't even remember my results from the last time I took this kind of test, so here goes.

INTJ
Introvert(53%)
iNtuitive(12%)
Thinking(1%)
Judging(28%)

I think I clicked "uncertain" a little too often, perhaps.
