I've had enough of Chuck Norris being mentioned in my school. I'm with Lü Bu all the way.

Pan Zheng is a fictional general in the RoTK novel, sent to fight Hua Xiong. His lord, Yuan Shu, I think, says "I've a brave warrior in my army. Pan Zheng is his name and he can slay this Hua Xiong."
Of course he died within one round of the duel against the excellent Hua Xiong.

Apparently, people in the old times, and I mean about seven- eight years ago, found Yuan Shu's line about him hilarious, and thus, many people wrote fake stories about his grand historical exploits.

Condor Heroes versus Three Kingdoms!

Guo Jing vs. Guan Yu (horseback combat and one-on-one combat)
Huang Rong vs. Sima Yi vs. Zhuge Liang (strategy and overall cleverness)
Duan Zhixing vs. Huang Yaoshi vs. Hua Tuo (healing skill)
Zhang Jiao's Yellow Turbans vs. the Ming Cult
The abuse of buying and selling votes crept in and money began to [determine] elections. Later on, this process of corruption spread to the courts. And then to the army, and finally the Republic was subject to the rule of Emperors.

Yellow Turbans had excellent leaders in people like Zhang Liang so they win I say.

Hua Tuo is generally accepted as one of the greatest healers in China and if he had survived longer and documented his findings, the medical knowledge of China would have grown greatly.

Novel Guan Yu can't lose as he would haunt anyone who killed him anyway. But Guo Jing would destroy him in a fight in real life.

Novel Zhuge Liang is indestructible and he can kill you with a letter. Sima Yi was a good politician and a good defender but his attacking prowess is questionable. Liang wins the day, though by a narrow margin in history.

Forget Hua Tuo, all the way with Hippocrates, the first doctor, and the creator of the Hippocratic oath. Much more useful to current medical knowledge and practice.

Seeing as most of Hua Tuo's knowledge was never fully recorded and destroyed, we will never know the full extent of what he found. Many say that medicine in China would have grown had his teachings survived.

Three Kingdoms of CHina: Wei leader Cao Cao, Shu leader Liu Bei and Wu leader Sun Ce vs the three kingdoms of Korea around 200 AD.

Given that part of Korea was conquered by Gongsun Du a few years prior to that, I doubt they'd be able to hold up against a concentrated attack by Cao Cao alone.

But miracles do happen...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Salsu
I don't write fanfic, but if I did it would involve Zhou Yu and Zheng He fighting to win the heart of Lai Choi San. Then I'd make them join forces to fight Ming the Merciless, who secretly works for Master Li. I'd squeeze Lu Bu in there somehow.

That was under fail leadership. I doubt that would happen to Cao Cao even though he suffered a similar defeat at Chi Bi. However, that was against better strategists.

Edit: and a really in depth strategy.

Yeah, the Korean Kingdoms are a little overrated and even I will admit that. Sui was not really the best of Dynasties either.

Han vs Sui vs Tang

Tang. I don't see anything particularly impressive about Han's military institutions. I'd argue that it was their leaders that brought them their successes, not the institutions themselves. I'd say their successes make a good argument in favor of the "Great Man" theory.

Sui lasted less than thirty years and bled itself to death in wars with Korea. Nah.

Anyway, while Han collapsed in the wake of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, it took two equally brutal civil wars (The An Lushan and Huang Chao rebellions) to break Tang. Also, An Lushan was a far more formidable opponent than Zhang Jiao, and the war far more brutal. Yet Tang survived, albeit as a shadow of its former self, for almost 150 years afterward.

Finally, Tang kicked so much ass in the West they even got into it with the Caliphate. Sure, Tang lost, but that's got to count for something.
