One type would be a harrassment campaign, sent by Cao Cao against Yuan Tan's territory at Qing. Lead by Zang Ba
Another would be a punitive campaign, example, the Dong Zhuo coalition.
any others?

Ill answer some :
There are Long Campaigns like those Jiang wei faught,
Objective campaings like Zhuge Liang's Campaign on Tian shui and the 3 districts.
Morale campaings like the Battle at Lucheng, where Zhuge Liang wanted to rotate his army but the troops refused to leave due to this kindness.
Moral Campaigns( Not Iraq!!!) Liu Bei vs Cao Cao numerous times.
Momentum campaings Like the Battle at Guan Du.Also Chengpu in the spring an autumn period.(Aisne in ww1)
Holding Campaings: Think The army of Chen vs Jin in the warring states era early. Jin was outnumberd and outskilled, but by use of deception the beat the Chen army without moving positions or fighting a pitched battle.
Pitched Battles( the last resort) The defender has no control over where hes fighting(usually) and is usually up against a more determined or superior opponent on all levels.(The marne in ww1)
sacrifice Battles( rare) retreat an inch to gain a mile as the sayin goes....Loss few to gain many etc...not ww1!
Raids as mentioned.
more soon let me study up....
