I'd say Jia Xu. An excellent example of how a cautious pragmatic can survive turbulent times, ensure the safety of himself and his family, rise to top ranks and contribute to the state as well. Han Xin is considered one of the greatest, yet what happened to him in the end :wink: Jia Xu, in contrast, was well aware of political situations and could foresee problems well ahead. Knew when to attack, when to retreat, when to surrender, when to bluff.
Do what you believe is right and don't be distracted by praises or insults.
