I'm moving this to World History.
The problem with Jiang Ziya and Zhuge Liang is that they've been deified to the extent that it's hard to tell what they actually accomplished as strategists.
I've always been fond of Zhang Liang, but how about Guo Ziyi of Tang? He was the one who saved Tang from the An Lushan rebellion. (For some reason I used to think of him as a scholar-strategist like Lu Xun, but I just read up on him and he actually started off in a military position.)
