Zhou Gongjin wrote:I wouldn't say Guan Suo if fictional, but I will say that its possible for Guan Suo to be the daughter of Guan Yu.
Even in SGYY, Guan Suo is never on the frontlines like Guan Ping (I am not counting Guan Xing because he was a civil officer) and was always staying behind with Zhuge Liang, especially in the battles against the Nanman.
Zhou Gongjin wrote:- LGZ did not include Guan Suo in battles because it could not be proven historically and the battles would be too different
Zhou Gongjin wrote:- LGZ felt that after the death of Guan Yu and Guan Ping there needed to be another Guan who would play a role in SGYY, since Guan Xing was not a warrior and his sons were not old enough, he used the daughter that was described as a lion (excuse my shoddy memory of SGYY on this one) and wasn't married to the Wu family as kind of a replacement
Zhou Gongjin wrote:- If I remember, Guan Yu had only one daughter, but not more than three sons, therefore there cannot be another son even if he's adopted, now it would only be logical to assume that LGZ would use the only other living relative of Guan Yu, that being his daughter
