These three generals immortalized themselves by carrying out daring raids on enemies far more numerous than their troops. Not only did they succeed, they did a great job and caused great damage to the enemy.

Which of these three do you like the best?

I personally like Gan Ning the best. He threw a party for his troops. Can't beat that!

Gan Ning would beat down Zhang Liao. Zhu Ran was good, but Gan Ning is the best!

Zhang Liao's defense of He Fei > Gan Ning's raid of Cao Cao's camp

Zhu Ran was good but doesn't measure up in my opinion.

Zhang Liao gets my vote.

Zhu Ran. Underrated. However, he's in the wrong company here. Zhu Ran was a great military commander but not a great fighter.

I have to disagree with the above post.
First of Zhang Liao and Gan Ning had taken of advantage of the lack of rest the troops had and for anyone who has fought after walking/running/working for a full day will know how hard it is too put much effort into anymore tasks.

Gan Ning had killed men while they slept without losing a soildier.
Zhang Liao went up against a whole retreating, tired and ill army.
Zhu Ran defended and pushed back Liu Bei's army with just 5,000 men and further destroyed several supply camps in the same process.Came back alive too...Not a strong fighter? Perhaps,a smart fighter? Definatley

Besides, just because you may be the strongest fighter doesnt mean you'll be the best fighter..Great example would be Lu Bu

Theres not much proof to weather any of them were that great in fighting (except that Gan Ning was a pirate which would require good strength).Personally I think they were all great fighters (Maybe Gan Ning being the strongest due to his background, not enough proof to say that definatley though) and even greater generals, which is what really counts in this topic.

Back on topic..I really couldn't say,I think all of them did great deeds for thier kingdoms and I dont think anyone would disagree with that.My answer;Kinda equal

i would say zhang liao. he is one of my favorite generals, plus i think what he did was greater for his kingdom than the other 2. not saying gan ning and zhu ran are bad, but i think zhang liao was more important to his kingdom.

I'm most defintely going with Zhu Ran, he was a good general and a great commander and underrated too and yes, he is in the wrong description here because he wasn't as made out as Gan Ning or Zhang Liao so it really isn't comparible but Zhang liao and Gan Ning are parred with each other though as others have stated like He Fei, Cao Cao's camp etc etc... except about the bit where Xingba killed that boy.
