Zhuge Jin didn't serve Wei, he served Shu.

Zhuge Jun, Liang and Jin's elder brother, served WU, though.

Zhuge Jin served Wu before Liang had considered becoming involved in war. He had become quite an importanmt person and was very loyal to Wu. He would never betray Wu and tried to convince liang to join wu. Liang choose Liu Bei because he swore that he would serve him. Hope that clears up a little of this mess. :?

Perhaps Liang wished to stay at home. He liked being away from everything didn't he. Perhaps he didn't want to be involved with the military yet.

If Zhuge Liang did go to Wu they would have had a valuable asset. Think about it..... Liu Bei's not getting anywhere because he's unwilling to take his relatives land, and Wu has one of the most important people in the Three Kingdoms Period.

I think A Jin tried it before, he tried to bring A Liang to Wu but A Liang rejected his offer. Then, A liang met Mr.Bei, quickly they fell in love with each other. That's why A Liang never followed A Jin step to Wu. For A Jun, maybe that time he was quite small, not need to 'work' yet.

Anyway, i think for old Chinese, it was better for them to serve suitable Lord than followed his brother step. For them, good Lord meant a lot and everybody have different view in this matter even though brothers and sisters. :D

Don't put all your eggs in one basket...

It was a good thing that Liang and Jin served different lords. When Zhuge Jin's son, Zhuge Ke got in trouble and his whole family was exterminated. Fortunately, Zhuge Liang had formerly adopted Zhuge Jin's second son, Zhuge Qiao, to be his own; and so when the Zhuge's in Wu were all killed, there was still Zhuge Qiao's son (Qiao was dead at that time) to carry on Zhuge Jin's line.

Here's something else to not about why Liang and Jun didn't serve Wu alongside their elder brother.

When Zhuge Jin joined Wu, Liang and Jin were still quite young. Too young to become officers at that. When Zhuge Liang joined Liu Bei in Jing, Jun was still too young to serve, I believe. Jun didn't join Shu until after Liu Bei took Yi, either. At least, I think that's right...:?
