Zhuge Liang; do you support him?

Unread postby Ender » Sat Jan 18, 2003 4:27 am

I've seen alot of Zhuge Supporters on here and don't know how many actually like. The question is do you support Zhuge of are you one who rivals me on all the threads in SGYYS?

As most on here know I support Zhuge when he's being put down. I am openminded though and take each post to heart and make a new foundation for my outlook on him each time. I now support him due to the overwelming amount of people against him in this forum but I am the first to point out his flaws if one asks.

Well, generally I wind up defending the guy from the horrible emperor Han Xin, so I guess I will mark down a yes.

Without Zhuge Liang the whole Shu kingdom would fall apart..... wait a minute Shu did fall apart without Zhuge Liang. So you got to give credit to the guy that held the whole kingdom together. I mean how many jobs/titles did that guy have? He was prime minister, army commander, looked after internal affairs...etc. It was a lot of task for one man to do. Sima Yi pretty sums it up best when he said this of Zhuge Liang "Alas, victory is mine! He has not long to live." ( or something like those words, but basically cuz Zhuge Liang overworked him self, slept late, woke up early - taking care of everything for Shu)

Hahah i agree on the second part, but not on the first (Fully anyway). Most of the best parts of SGYY actually come from the good old Kong Ming. After his death, the speed of the book tends to pick up a lot making it seem that Kongming was actually the focus of the later chapters of the boook.
If I'm posting here, it means I'm procrastinating.

I definatel support ZGL. Whatever his flaws, he was the best man for his job and did it well. None before or after him was capable of doing it all, though it wouldn't hurt if putmorepower and trust Wei Yan's and Li Yan's way....

NO... Zhuge Liang was a fraud. However, I do like the historical Zhuge Liang better the novel version. Zhuge Liang in the novel was cruel, paranoid, rely too much on witchcraft, think little of everyone.

That about sums it up for me as well. I think we've put up some convincing (to everyone but Han Xin) arguments over the months...
