I'm a pretty big fan of the series. The battle scenes in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series that came out just a few years ago were sometimes embarrassing, and once you got their cost-cutting techniques down it borders on the unwatchable. This series reminds me of some of the best of the political intrigue, without the need to force in battle scenes to make others feel entertained. I haven't finished it yet, but I have a feeling there will be a couple when it comes to conflict with Zhuge Liang.
Alone I lean under the wispy shade of an aged tree,
Scornfully I raise to parted lips a cup of warm wine,
Longingly I cast an empty vessel aside those exposed roots,
And leave behind forgotten memories and forsaken dreams.
