Was Cao Cao made a God, like Guan Yu?

By the people? No.

But the emperor is also known as "son of heaven", and Cao Pi posthumously declared his father emperor. Also, keep in mind that Cao Cao was more powerful than anyone in the country...
Unless I specifically say otherwise, assume I am talking about historical Three Kingdoms, and not the novel.

I think he means if Cao Cao was deitified like Guan Yu was through later generations. The answer is no I would say.

Of the people I know were deitified fom the three kingdoms era, I am only aware of 2 aside from the Emperors:
• Guan Yu
Taoism: Saintly Emperor Guan - Sort of like a god of righteousness.
Buddhism: Sangharama Bodhisattva - Heavenly protector. Also considered the protector of temples.
• Shi Xie
Vietnamese Trần Dynasty: Thiên Cảm Gia Ứng Linh Vũ Đại Vương - Considered a King of proto-Vietnam alsong with the mythological Sovereigns and Emperors of China and Vietnam

Also:
• Liu Bei
Chengdu: Patron of Shoemakers - not a deity, rather a revered ancestor, more like a saint.

I am also curious if there are others (either worshiped as a deity or a patron).

Guan Ping and Zhou Cang were deified alongside Guan Yu.

There's also a worship hall for Han Xuan in Changsha even today, although he may merely be considered a saint (or soemthing similar) instead of a deity.

Almost forgot:

Hua Tuo is the deity of medicine in Taoism.

Also while Chinese Emperor's were "divine" as they held the Mandate of Heaven, they were considered to have a close relation to the celestial beaurucracy rather than being a divine entity in their own right. Like modern popes, they were the head of the priesthood but not a living deity like the Japanese Emperor.

Appearing alongside Guan Yu does not mean that Guan Ping and Zhou Cang (and sometimes Liao Hua) were deified as well. They are merely present to denote their relationship as Guan Yu's companions.

This.

I'm surprised by this topic actually. Cao Cao is one of, if not, the most unpopular person of the time according to the entire Chinese population on the planet.
