e was half-hearted when he threw halberds and didn't really insist on killing Lu Bu. You see, Lu Bu could dodge any halberd that his father threw, and Dong Zhuo couldn't kill him with this method. OR he could have been too violent and actually wanted to kill Lu Bu, but only failed in each attempt. Either way, this was the start of the divide between Dong Zhuo and his son.

About this helbrate thing:
Because of his provocative actions and reckless behavior, Dong Zhuo had aroused the anger of many and the risk of assassination was high. For his personal safety, Dong Zhuo depended heavily on Lu Bu. He shadowed the father almost all the time.He was perhaps the onliest reason why Dong Zhuo wasnt killed.Would Dong Zhuo really try to kill his own shield? No this was only an act of frustration and bad temper, he knewed that he couldnt kill him with that so thats why he always did it,to cool down. However the relationship between them became worser trough this and the chamber maid thing. And thus he was killed by the one who ensured his safty all the time.

It would have been... quite something if the halberd had stuck in Lu Bu's heart.

So what you're saying is that he did it simply to do something to stop being mad?

Dong was hot tempered, he probably just lost it and threw the thing at the object of his displeasure.

Maybe you should ask Dong Zhuo why in the world would he hurl a deadly halberd at his son.

I think I will call him later

Anyway that was DZ adoptive Lu Bu son was just because DZ wanted his loyalty he needed a strong warrior that hadnt much to do with love I guess.

On the other hand Dong Zhuos gets probably away with the worst bio in the whole book although he is just like a fat Cao Cao who had a big sucess and a hughe downfall.

Dong was the man blamed for the fall of the Han, he killed an Emperor, burnt the capital and ended up abusing his power, can see why history doesn't view him as a saint

Zappa, your assuming during a loss of temper that Dong was thinking clearly which he probably wasn't and was very angry at the time

But still, would he have tried to kill his own son and probably his only loyal follower?
