What if Liu Biao had lived 5 more years? How do you think that would of changed events?

Nope, Liu Bei would still be defeated by Cao Cao at XinYe and Liu Biao would surrender to Cao Cao anyway. Nothing would change.

Liu Biao was opposed to Cao Cao, and although a peaceful man, I don't think he would of surrendered to Cao Cao.

I imagine Liu Biao and Liu Bei would of fought against Cao Cao and been defeated(since the battles would of taken place on land they would of had very little chance of defeaating Cao's army). Sun Quan would then defeat Cao's weakened force, and I imagine we would end up with a two kingdoms scenario.

I think Liu Biao was smarter than people give him credit for, he just wanted Cao out of his land, and wanted Jing to remain a peaceful place. If push came to shove though, the Liu's could take Cao Cao no sweat, and I have a weird theory why.

First of Liu Biao has a pretty strong foothold in Jing, and Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun in the van, then if asked, in all seriousness, Sun Quan and Liu Zhang could send reiforcements, because it is in both of those nations best interests to keep Cao Cao from staying in Jingzhou and being able to spring off intp Ba-Shu and the southlands. I think this especially true for Liu Zhang, unfortunately though Liu Biao did die, and Liu Zong reeked.

I think that if Liu Biao had lived there may have been a chance. Upon Cao Cao’s invasion Liu Biao would have asked Liu Bei what should be done. There is no doubt that Liu Bei would choose to stand and fight, and I suspect he would have been given a major point of command in the battle.

There were many talented officers in Jing, and I think after discussion with Liu Bei Liu Biao would at least give it a very good shot. After constant failures (should they happen) it is possible Liu Biao might surrender though.

If Liu Zheng or Sun Quan were to send reinforcements to Jing (both possible, I feel, given the right circumstances) Cao Cao would have really had a fight in front of him. Of course there is a large window for chance, error, and Cao Cao’s intelligence, but I don’t think Zhou Dexiang’s theory is that far fetched.

I agree. Liu Biao isn't a genius, but he's no fool either. He knows that he should ask his officers and his guest what to do. Plus, re-inforcements from Zhang or Quan aren't impossible, given that the two parties believe it possible to win and can put aside their differences for the time being. However, I can't help but think Liu Biao, Liu Bei, or some one else will make a mistake that Cao will take advantage of. Luckily for Jing's would be defenders, Cao Cao is coming off a huge victory over Yuan Shao, which might pump up his arrogance to ignore advisors level........

If Liu Biao lived five more years, I would guess Liu Bei would have either been persuded to take over from Liu Biao from the advise of Kongming, or Liu Bei would just fight with Liu Biao against Cao Cao. Or maybe, Cai Mao would have killed Liu Qi and Liu Bei, and after Liu Biao died, the the younger heir Liu Zong would take over and be destroyed by Cao Cao, which is kind of what happend in the novel, seeing as Liu Zong was killed by Cao Cao. I think the most likely think to happen though, would be, Liu Zhang and Sun Quan sending renforcements, thats of couse if Cao Cao was to attack Jing.
