Kongde sent me this
Kongming Archives - Incorrect Family
-Wang Hun: http://kongming.net/encyclopedia/Wang-Hun - Wang Sheng might not be his son. JS does not state Sheng. This seems to be from the wikipedia and Dynasty Warriors. Consulted with DaoLun, who was also unaware of Wang Sheng. However, the JS mentions "he enfeoffed his second son Shang as Maquis Inside the Passes" and later mentions "His eldest son Shang perished Young, his second son Ji inherited." It could be a misunderstanding. Wang Hun also passed away at 297 AD, this is not listed.
-Also, continuing on Wang Hun, Wang Ji who is listed as his grandson may actually be his son. d6bookofjin.tumblr.com/post/162952545989/biography-of-wang-hun There is a discrepancy between Sun Bofu's translated JS version currently posted and this more extensive version, in which it states Ji is Hun's second son, whereas Sun Bofu states Ji is Shang's son. However, that could be unlikely seeing as it is said he died young.

Given fuller translation and the views of Daolun, shall I make the changes?

Wang Ji is without a doubt the son of Wang Hun. His wife was Zhong Yan, the daughter of Zhong Huī 锺徽, and the two of them 100% had a son named Wang Ji. The Jinshu and Shishuo Xinyu both record the same story taking place,
After marrying Hun [JS042], she gave birth to Ji [JS042]. Hun once sat together with Yan. Ji hurried [over] the courtyard and passed through. Hun joyously said: “Getting a son is like this, it satisfies a man’s heart.”

Yan smiled [or “laughed”] and said: “If sent as bride to obtain and match an Adjutant, getting a son for that reason is not just like this.” Adjutant refers to Hun’s middle younger brother Lun [?]

I would certainly say it's worth changing that for sure. The two of them also had at least one unnamed daughter together.

The Shang/Sheng issue could be a similar case to Bai and Bo, or Yao and You in that the character is the same reading but was used one way at one point and it's used different now. Though it can also be an outright translation error of the initial person with Shang. That'd be for someone who has actual translation experience. I can only go off the information at hand which states that Wang Hun had three named sons that I can find, Shang, Ji and Cheng for sons. Shang being the eldest who died young, Ji is the second eldest as he inherited and Cheng would be the third eldest.
