Why did Zhang Fei spared Yan Yan? Tell me some logical reasons.

Perhaps he realized Yan Yan would be of use while traveling through Shu. But it is Zhang Fei after all, not exactly a very smart guy but that's just the way the book portrays him. According to Zhang Fei's SGZ, they don't mention how Yan Yan was used after his surrender like the book does.
The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

Yan Yan was a good warrior and Zhang Fei thought he would be of some use to Shu.

Better to have a renowned general on your side for many reasons. I don't see why he wouldn't be hired by Zhang Fei

If Zhang Fei wasn't thinking,he would've executed Yan Yan.

You underestimate Zhang Fei but I suppose had Yan Yan not changed sides he would have to be executed

In terms of SGYY I think that it wasn't the style of the Shu generals and their armies to go around slaughtering people. Yan Yan would have made a good captive because of the troops he had- they would have followed Yan Yan even after his capture because they're loyal to their lord. In terms of historical context, you could say that Zhang Fei only thought of this because he wasn't as stupid as the book makes him out to be.

Well, Alexander the Great was known or being benevolent to those who put up a good fight, then surrendered. Perhaps Zhang Fei simply respected Yan Yan for his stubborn defense and willingness to go to his death.

I think sparing Yan Yan because of helping himself to the way of Shu is part of the reason.

I guess Zhang Fei have remembered Zhuge Liang have ever told him "win other people's heart"
