Hex Editing

This thread presents basic information for who is looking forward into hex editing (including asian software).

About Hexadecimal (a positional numeral system with a base of 16, 0~F, used to represent bytes):

Note #1: Remember that you need a proper font to view text (like SimSun for example).

While we're at it, surely I'm not the only one who enjoys editing older games. For doing that, Tile Layer Pro is useful; so is Tile Molester.

And regardless of the game, I recommend OpenOffice (or something similar), as they're very convenient for storing your planned data and mass decimal-hex conversions.
Unless I specifically say otherwise, assume I am talking about historical Three Kingdoms, and not the novel.

Hi there DragonAtma,

I did this thread before the merging of sections, so it's focused in RoTK XI. But I really think it needs to be changed now.

If you have links and tutorials to share of Tile Layer Pro, Tile Molester and about "mass decimal-hex conversions", just tell me and I shall edit my first post to be more generic, accommodating other games and Rom editing.
