5/13/08: Sango 2, a new game by Magitech Corporation

Good news for Three Kingdoms strategy game fans! Magitech Corporation has released a new Three Kingdoms strategy game with real-time strategy elements (RTS, think the Total War series) in English and it is available now. It is called Sango 2, and for a small development firm, it looks like a wonderful title! Sango 2 was originally announced on April 28th and on May 7th an English demo was made available for download. You can buy Sango 2 directly for $29.95 USD.

At Scholars of Shen Zhou we have been exploring Sango 2 for a little while now, and in that discussion you will find some helpful tips and suggestions to keep in mind when you experiment with the demo. We are also thrilled to welcome Magitech Corporation to the English Three Kingdoms market and have created a new home page for Sango 2. Screenshots are available with some initial explanation, and more will come in the near future (especially when our own copy arrives so we can begin experimenting).

What a pain... I was planning to do more with that section today but I wound up having to clean up in the forum instead. Also it was fun to discover that I needed to update a bunch of code on KMA because the database of SoSZ is now running with a completely different format. It was at least nice to discover that the database is laid out in a way that makes a bit more sense...

Smaller developers like this one must love the free advertising engine that is KMA/SoSZ. :)

They have been quite appreciative. :)

And I do actually hope to make any difference I can for them!

Of course! It's the perfect symbiotic relationship. We'd love for games of this nature to be as successful as possible. So would the people who make the games. :)

I'm actually pretty tickled that a small design firm would reach out to the English audience when Koei, with massive recognition and presence, takes baby steps around us. I'm glad I'm in a position to help in introducing the title to other people. :)

The game's official title is Sango 2, not Sanguo 2. :)

Sure they do!

I think I've got everything fixed but some double breadcrumbs.

The home page for Sango 2 is based on the database, but the second uses the slightly outdated template engine (I didn't feel like messing with it with so much going on right now). The old template engine doesn't like it very much when I change game names...
