4/5/05: Dynasty Warriors 5 content (Dim Sum, Wine, Stages)

Unread postby James » Wed Apr 06, 2005 1:51 am

Rather than bore you with more database work, or page remakes, I’ve decided to start (and in some cases, complete) several Dynasty Warriors 5 projects. First, an Information and Features Page has been created. It should be useful to people who are still deciding if they want the game or not (and I might actually write a review soon too). A list stages each officer must complete is available in the new Character Stages Guide. A Dim Sum and Musou Wine Locations Guide has been started, and I hope to complete it through gameplay and with your assistance (submissions are always welcome by email). Finally, I’ve also added a decent collection of game media (e.g. box covers, disc covers, manual cover), which can be accessed through the right-hand menu of the section pages.

If any of you guys want to share the location of a Musou Wine on one of the Dynasty Warriors 5 stages, or know which officer drops a Dim Sum on what stage and what side, please post in reply to this message. If you want credit for the submission, please include the credit name, email, and site (each i/a).

Bai Di Castle:
Dim Sum: (Wu)Defeat Huang Gai
Wine: Near North path in the village (If you come from the upper parts, its on your right, if you come from the lower parts, its on your left)

Hei Fei Castle:
Dim Sum:(Wu)Defeat Xu Huang's sub-general in front of the outer door facing downward.
(Wei)Defeat Taishi Ci
Wine:Bottom left corner of map.

Additional info:
Play on Normal in a 5-star difficuly map will also get you +20s for both.

I'll try to find more, I think I did, but I don't remember, or I can't describe very well.

The sub general's name is Sun Li. (To make it less confusing)
The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

Hello, I want to clarify some things found in the Game Information FAQ. Can I?
You may have a total of six separate bodyguards.

IIRC, it's up to 8 different bodyguards you can have.

Weapons: Bodyguards have a pre-determined weapon type. The rarest type is the fan, which is only used by females. It allows them to heal you.

It seems like the bodyguards have preset weapons per gender.
Male: Spear, Crossbow, Staff
Female: Sword, Bow, Fan

As officers level up, they gain skills, and can eventually learn three.

That is if 1-3 of his/her stats are maxed. If none are maxed, they'll only get 2 skills in the end. But if all 4 stats are maxed, they will get a total of 4 skills.

Dynasty Warriors 5 features lll new characters: Cao Pi (Cao Cao’s son and heir), Guan Ping (Guan Yu’s son), Ling Tong (Wu), Xing Cai (Shu; Zhang Fei’s daughter; Fictional), Zuo Ci (Unaligned; Odd sage from Three Kingdoms history). Zuo Ci is unlocked by unlocking every other character.

Hey, you forgot Pang De. :)

Characters available from the start of the game include, in Wei: Cao Pi, Dian Wei, Xiahou Dun, Xu Zhu, Zhang Liao; Shu: Guan Yu, Huang Zhong, Ma Chao, Xing Cai, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun; Wu: Ling Tong, Lu Xun, Sun Quan, Sun Shang Xiang, Taishi Ci, Zhou Yu; Unaligned: None.

Zhen Ji's also available from the start.

Dynasty Warriors 5 features 47 different playable characters.

I thought it's 48... :P

And in the Dim Sum page..
If you are playing on the Chaos difficulty, bonuses are +20 instead of +10.

Actually, it doesn't have to be in Chaos...
According to Muni Shinobu, You will be able to find +20 HP & Musou bonus if:
- Playing the last stage of a Musou mode in Normal or higher
- Playing a 5-star battle in Free mode in Normal or higher
- Playing a 4-star battle in Free mode in Hard or higher.

Thank you very much for clearing these things up. I’ll fix everything in the next update (which will probably be tomorrow). If anyone else sees problems, or would like to suggest additions, they will always be welcome. I threw that whole list together in around thirty minutes off the top of my head…

^ The wife. She’s part of the reason why everyone gets to enjoy a whole bunch of new Dynasty Warriors 5 stuff. She actually sits down with me and plays through the levels, and goes on hunts for these goofy little items. I’ve really enjoyed Dynasty Warriors 5 though, so that only makes it all the better. :)
