[PUBLISHED][/PUBLISHED]
Code: Select all
[published]{URL}[/published]
This will be the address on Kongming's Archives where the article has actually been published. There's no harm in listing something prior to publication and in fact it is good as a suggestion. Once the article is published we obviously wouldn't change that address unless the article moved. It is included as a reference for anyone working on the article and to aid in search engine indexing between the two articles. It is not used on Kongming’s Archives.

[DIV=][/DIV]
Code: Select all
[div={SIMPLETEXT}]{TEXT}[/div]
This creates a <div> tag with a class of {SIMPLETEXT}. Once introduced into an article the <div> tag should be used in a way consistent with its current application. Prior to publication there's not much need to worry about the <div> tag. It will be used (and added) to apply CSS to groups of an article over at Kongming’s Archives. This allows me to apply some advanced formatting without complicating the work we do here. The class {SIMPLETEXT} can only include letters and numbers, and must begin with a letter. Translated into HTML, it becomes <div class="{SIMPLETEXT}">{TEXT}</div>.

[ANAME=][/ANAME]
Code: Select all
[aname={SIMPLETEXT}][/aname]
This creates a reference which will be used to link internally in a document. In simple English, now that you have entered this text somewhere, we can create a link elsewhere in the document that automatically jumps to this specific point in the article. The best use for this would be to create a page menu at the top of an article which can be used to jump to specific sections. If there is no need to jump to a specific section there is no need to include this reference. Translated into HTML, it becomes <a name="{SIMPLETEXT}" id="{SIMPLETEXT}"></a>.

This is a simple template which gives you an idea of an article’s general form. If you want to create a new article it may be best to begin with this template. If you are confused you are also welcome to just start typing in a new topic (if you aren’t an editor go ahead and request a new topic) like you would if you just wanted to share it. We'll be happy to mark it up as an article for you, or explain as you go along.

Code: Select all
[header]
[title]{ARTICLE_TITLE}[/title]
[titleshort]{ARTICLE_TITLE_SHORT}[/titleshort]
[author={AUTHOR_ID]{AUTHOR_NAME}[/author]
[published]{KMA_ARTICLE_ADDRESS}[/published]
[keywords]{ARTICLE_KEYWORDS}[/keywords]
[description]{ARTICLE_DESCRIPTION}[/description]
[/header]

[body]
{INTRODUCE_ARTICLE}

[div=ulm]
[list]
[*][ahref=#{ARTICLE_1_LINK}]{ARTICLE_1_TITLE}[/ahref]
[/list]
[/div]

[h3][aname={ARTICLE_1_LINK}][/aname]{ARTICLE_1_TITLE}[/h3]
{INTRODUCE_SECTION}

[/body]

To use this template you would replace the text in curly brackets {TEXT} with the content of your article. To see how text is entered in these various extended BBCode tags please read the reference posted above. You can also click 'Quote' on any completed article to see how it has been marked up and what has been placed in each field. You are welcome to be as reckless as you like when creating a new article (we can sort things out), but please be very careful when editing an article that has been published. Check the article on Kongming’s Archives and use the 'Preview' button to make sure everything works properly. When in doubt, please reply in an appropriate topic for help.
