They had various kinds of giant crossbows. They also had traction trebuchets, but neither should be powerful enough to take down stone walls.

The counterweight trebuchets shown in game wouldn't be invented for 1000 years.

The trebuchets are too strong due to a bug that is being sorted out. Still, it seems ranged is really strong in this game. Level 5 strategist Kong Rong just mowed through the enemy army with arrows, it was pretty crazy.

By the way, they showed some UI changes to the battle screen that seem quite interesting. I still wish they didn't use such bright colors to highlight units, though.

These are nice, but I just want the big unit banners back. Those tiny circles with tiny icons next to them are just too hard to read :(

They are, and I feel they don't convey enough information, or at least not clearly enough. In Shogun 2, for example, you'd see them blink in white and you'd see them torn when the unit ha lost many men, and that let you see at a glance what was going on. Not to mention it blends in better with the battle itself instead of some generic circle thingy.

This was a fun livestream and some of the new features were quite a surprise. I guessed we would be getting some different unit cards, but I didn't expect the change capital option or the new guanxi tree to find all characters. That's very handy.

Also, I really like the Chinese voice acting. It will be the option I use most of the time. The delay was the right decision in the end, since many of this things will have been patched at a later date if at all, rather than having them from release.

There's now a feature that lists out all the characters you've ever met. You can sort and search through the list a few different ways and view relation webs to see how everyone is connected.

It is a nice feature, this way when I play as Liu Bei I can keep track of everyone who likes me so I can betray them later!
