Warriors of Fate

Any of you ever played Warriors of Fate before? To my knowledge, it's the second oldest RoTK games ever made, next to Dynasty Wars. I just recently played it again and made some notes. See if I got it right.

Your heroes:
Kan U: Guan Yu
Chou Hi: Zhang Fei
Chou Un: Zhao Yun
Kou Chuu: Huang Zhong
Gi En: Wei Yan

Stages and Bosses
Stage 1: Battle of Bowang
Boss: Ri Ten, supposedly Li Dian.

Stage 2: Battle of Bowang, part 2
Boss: Kakou Ton, supposedly Xiahou Dun

Stage 3: Fictional battle of Xinye
Boss: Kyo Cho, supposedly Xu Chu
And there's a battle against 3 female bosses. I don't know who they are, or why Capcom included them.

Stage 4 : Battle of Xinye part 2
Boss: Sou Jin,supposedly Cao Ren

Stage 5: Battle of Changban
Boss: Jun U Dou, supposedly Chunyu Dao (LoL, who right?)

Stage 6: Battle of Changban part 2
Boss: An Mei, I'm thinking either Zhang He or Yan Ming
Boss: Kakou Ketsu, I don't know. Xiahou Jie?
Extras: Kakou On, supposedly Xiahou En
Extras: Seikou, supposedly Blue Steel Blade

Stage 7: Battle of Chibi
Boss: Chou Ryuu, supposedly Zhang Liao

Stage 8: Battle of ... completely made up by Capcom, I guess. Your heroes are invading Cao Cao's castle.
Boss: Jo Kou, I have no idea who he is. Xu Huang? Zhang He?

Stage 9: Battle of chase the fleeing Cao Cao to some mountain path. I think...
Boss: Ryo Fu, who is Lu Bu because no RoTK game could exist without Lu Bu. A very blond, caucasian Lu Bu.

Stage 10: Battle of cliched final scene at the edge of a cliff
Boss: Sou Sou, obviously Cao Cao

I've actually played it a lot when I didn't know at all what it was about :)

Not sure about your list because the version I have at home has different names (neither the Chinese or the Japanese, not sure why).

...Warriors of Fate doesn't come out until 1992, so it's not the second-oldest RoTK game. It's not even the second-oldest Tenchi no Kurau game (both Destiny of an Emperor [1990] and DoaE 2 [1991] are older).

And it didn't help that the translators decided to move Warriors of Fate to Mongolia.

It was changed because back then localization team was mostly made by high stoners with peas for brains. This, along with Megaman X5, RUshing Beat Shura, and Undercover Cops are some of the worst examples.

Btw, I just checked the Wiki version of Warriors of Fate, and it almost had the same translation notes this one. Even down to the obscure reference like Xiahou Jie and Chunyu Dao. Did someone from this site just edited the Wiki?

Sorry, sorry, just a morbid curiosity.
Btw, according to Wiki... I can't believe I just said that line  , I was right and Jo Kou is indeed Xu Huang.
Their names sounds nothing alike :?

It looks like they used the Japanese versions of the names (which Ikki Tousen also did). And before you ask, no, I have not watched Ikki Tousen.

Why not? XD

Yes, these are the Japanese names. You can find some of the equivalents here:

Played this games multiple times as a kid. You know, time when the only place you could actually play game was at a store since nobody had enough money to get one at home. I actually never managed to beat the game, although some legendary could finish the whole thing with one or two coins.

I distinctly recall that the "asia" version of the rom shows the original names (guan yu instead of PORTOR) in roman characters, but I had it several computers ago, and gosh if mame isn't the stupidest emulator when it comes to figuring out just what was what a few years ago compared to now.

The game identifies itself as "SANGOKUSHI 2" instead of "TENCHI WO KURAU II"
