Destiny of an Emperor 2.0 (Version 1.1 Released!)

Discussion of other Three Kingdoms games (e.g. Destiny of an Emperor and Dynasty Tactics) and other games by Koei (e.g. Samurai Warriors).

I was thinking for a moment about making Sun Jian an officer of Yuan Shu’s, but the timeline is all wrong. That would have been quite a nasty battle! And in retrospect, it would have been very unusual to have Sun Jian on your party while you’re off in Wu killing his son…

I think I can squeeze Hua Xin in there…

Cool. Thanks for the thought on that!
I’ll do some reading on Ji Ling before I give him his stats.
He is definitely going to be among Yuan Shu’s finest officers.

IIRC Ji Ling managed to defeat Guan Yu (or at least tie him) or something?

He lost to Guan Yu in 30 bouts and lost to Zhang Fei (who killed him) in less than 10.

He still does rock, though, and should have good power.

That performance is enough to justify coolness for Ji Ling.

I posted this over at LYS:

I am trying to decide on who to keep in Yuan Shu’s territory, and who to oust. My list is below. Officers in the top category are currently assigned to roles, officers in the bottom category are potential candidates for placing in the territory.

Maybe you have some thoughts…
- Yuan Shu
- Yuan Yin
- Lu Fan
- Han Xian
- Chen Lan
- Liang Gang
- Chen Lan
- Hua Xin
- Han Hao
- Ji Ling
- Zhang Xun
- Lei Bo
- Li Feng

- Chen Ji
- Qiao Rui
- Yuan Yao
- Yue Jiu
- Han Yin

Yes, I’m trying to sneak Hua Xin and Han Hao in there. :P

You have two Chen Lans?

Just for reference, Zhang He lost to Zhao Yun in 30 bouts. Ji Ling to Guan Yu in 30 bouts. Depending on your esteem of Zhao Yun and Guan Yu's relative talents, Zhang He and Ji Ling would have roughly comparable skill... Go Ji Ling! Ji Ling for DW6! ;)

Nah, I just created the list in a hurry. It is based on my region checklist:

Code: Select all
~ 1000 - 1250

Nan Yang Castle
[ ] Verify Yuan Shu         70-55-62-41-53 155
[ ] Verify Yuan Yin         45-38-41-43-42 163
[ ] Verify Lu Fan         73-45-68-64-65 169

~ 600 - 700

Nan Yang’s Second Gate
[ ] Copy Han Xian
[ ] Verify Han Xian         70-72-58-28-27 159
[ ] Copy Chen Lan
[ ] Paste Han Xian over Chen Lan
[ ] Verify Liang Gang      65-62-50-47-60 159  69 41

~ 750

Nan Yang’s First Gate
[ ] Copy Liang Ji
[ ] Verify Chen Lan         62-68-52-52-38 157 [Blue! Hat!]  69 40
[ ] Paste Chen Lan over Liang Ji

~ 700 - 800 ???

Chen Cang Fortress
[ ] Create Qiao Rui         62-64-33-24-31 143  69 38
[ ] Paste Qiao Rui over Han Xian
[ ] Copy Li Feng
[ ] Create Hua Xin         52-59-89-98-67 157  ***
[ ] Paste Hua Xin over Li Feng

~ 750 - 800

Huai Nan Castle
[ ] Verify Ji Ling         72-80*-62-53-61 155
[ ] Verify Zhang Xun      62-61-46-32-38 156

~ 650 - 850

Yuan Castle
[ ] Verify Lei Bo         50-56-35-38-35 160
[ ] Copy Chen Ji
[ ] Create Han Hao         72-67-76-81-63 164  ***
[ ] Paste Han Hao over Chen Ji

Han Yin                  29-41-58-72-75 154  **
Liu Xiang
Qiao Rui               62-64-33-24-31 143
Yan Xiang               39-32-68-74-58 160
Yuan Yao               13-21-54-76-81 187
Yue Jiu                  60-54-45-37-52 162
Zhuge Xuan

[ ] Verify Li Feng         Li Feng 56-70-52-41-52 170   55 70

This is how I have created each region. I gather up SimRTK stats (because they have been pretty extensively debated and are a good reference), look at RTK stats, take what I know about officers, and read about them too, and use those things to create their stats. Sometimes I create somewhat different stats for the sake of gameplay. Anyway, if you look at the list above, you can see my latest considerations for officer placement.

I’ve always been a fan of Ji Ling too.

You don’t have to do too much arm-twisting with me.
I made Zhang He very very cool, and Ji Ling will be too. :)

OK, I figured he just popped up in the list twice, but I just wanted to make sure he wasn't taking up someone else's spot in the roster. :)

It is coming down to this:

Who should I fire? Liang Gang or Qiao Rui?
(If not someone else currently placed in the list above).

Liang Gang seems more appropriate... but Qiao Rui has a cool name and I think I would have fun making his character and possibly slightly exaggerating his talents. Hehe.

Yep! He has a cool hat, but it isn’t cool enough for him to get that treatment. :P

Guan Yu cheated on bout 31.

I think you should keep Liang Gang! I don't really know why. Probably only because I have good memories of him from DoaE and RTK2 back in the day.

Maybe for the Kong Wen edition...
