Destiny of an Emperor 2.0 (Version 1.1 Released!)

Discussion of other Three Kingdoms games (e.g. Destiny of an Emperor and Dynasty Tactics) and other games by Koei (e.g. Samurai Warriors).

I know. The only reason why I held out on updating that page is because there were a few final tidbits I wanted to adjust in the new version before I published it to the website. The experience tables, for example, need a little tweaking. It is perfectly playable, though.

Chzn8r, if you want to play 1.1 from where you are, just use a patching program to patch the new ROM onto 1.0, and voila!

And since I got James' permission, I can continue with 2.0 agility stuff.

I apologize for double-posting, but I'm assuming that it can be tolerated since it's meant to be separate.

Haha, I double post all the time here. It's just the DOAE threads; I doubt anybody's counting.

Oh, well, and I guess it doesn't matter since it's info-related.

After downloading, what else do we need to download for the game to work and any recommendations as have tried downloading a few NES emulators if this is what is needed, but to no success....

What are you using? Destiny of an Emperor, and various mods of it, tend to run pretty reliably under most emulators.

James' mods should work on any emulator - it is the very new mods in the last year or two where the roms had to be expanded to allow for more data / longer games. I believe they only run on FCEUX. Sonic Penguin would know.

FCEUX is what most of the modern DOAE mods are created under. FCEUX is able to handle the expanded memory and hacking that has been done to DOAE. Tiger NES however seems to be a functional alternative to FCEUX that also works on Android for you techy smart phone people who still play NES games :P

Some emulators, such as NESten, are outdated and do not work with most DOAE mods out there. More info on DOAE hacking can be found here http://doaerhguide.wikidot.com/
