Destiny of an Emperor 2.0 (Version 1.1 Released!)

Discussion of other Three Kingdoms games (e.g. Destiny of an Emperor and Dynasty Tactics) and other games by Koei (e.g. Samurai Warriors).

Its certainly doable, you just have to plan your battles more. Trust me, about the only battles which are horrible are the infamous Zhou Yu battle when you enter Wu, and the last battle in the game. Otherwise, most of these battles can be won with preparation and an alteration in tactics (note: right now, your tactical damage will do a lot more than your physical damage).

I just noticed I'm playing 1.0 and not 1.1 - any major concerns about that? Or is the difference not noticeable in gameplay?

My party heading into Shu:

As generic as it gets! Kind of hard to justify taking anybody else at the moment though.

Though I will have to level-grind a bit before actually setting off on the campaign. I'm also debating springing for new armors now (Ring M) instead of waiting for Chain M like I normally would, just because I imagine the hits I take being very brutal...

20020 men.

255 str

240 a.p

you have got to be kidding me

edit: nevermind I forgot I had Pang Tong and Power Pills and Doubt and Guard and all that good stuff and Lu Bu didn't have a tactician to back him up.

still, that would be a behemoth of a foe for any kind of doae 2.0 challenge game.

edit2: LOL that battle gave me 2 levels at once!

Who are you talking about? I thought Lu Bu was simply An Shaable too.

-I don't have An Sha yet
-I tend to take Zhu Ge Liang as my strategist as often as possible, though in 2.0 I imagine I will direly need An Sha in some scenarios.

Fight a lot in Jingzhou unti you get An Sha, and kill Lu Bu in one punch. "Among men, Lu Bu; among tactics, AN SHA!"

There are some major changes and numerous difficulty tweaks. You can probably go from one to the other and keep playing, though some of your characters will probably change in doing so.

No, write and share whatever you like. If someone wrote a guide of some sort I'd probably even host it. I'm just not going to be the one publishing the information. :)

As an example, you missed out on one heck of a battle here. In the updated version you face Lu Bu, Chen Gong, and some cohorts in a pretty fun and brutal battle. In the original you just fight Lu Bu.

Well then.

I will update to 1.1 pronto.

You need to update this page, then, as this is where I got 1.0 from: http://kongming.net/doae/2.0/
