Musou: Orochi Discussion Thread

Discussion of other Three Kingdoms games (e.g. Destiny of an Emperor and Dynasty Tactics) and other games by Koei (e.g. Samurai Warriors).

Woohoo! Somebody who shares my view. I was like "WTF is this?" When I saw. Here comes Koei to further ruin Chinese history...

Like they did in DW1, 2, 3, 3XL, 4, 4XL, 4E, 5, 5XL, and 5E? :? This is just a blatantly fictional game featuring fictional characters (based on historical figures) that people already know.

In the games you mentioned though, Koei at least somewhat based their games off of the historical three kingdoms era or the novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. In effect, this helped to popularize these two periods in the eyes of fans. A game like DW3 got me interested in Chinese history. A game like Orochi Musou, would not.

Story:

Wei: Cao Cao disappeared without a trace , Cao Pi took over and allied Wei with Orochi. Some of Wei's formal generals joined the Anti-Orochi faction.

Wu: Orochi has kidnapped many of Wu's generals starting with Sun Jian. Sun Ce begins his journey looking for his people as a member of the Anti-Orochi faction.

Shu: After Lui Bei went missing , the Shu army is falling to pieces. The captured Zhao Yun received help from the least expected person when he is facing despair...

Sengoku: Managed to keep most of its military power safe from Orochi.Oda Nobunaga , Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin teamed up to unify the land , absorbing the anti-Orochi factions and continues to strengthen their power.

China got the short end of this stick...

Well I'm not good in translating but the plot of Musou Orochi is all started from the Orochi (Eight-Forked Serpent). He mixed the world of Sangoku and Sengoku together, so that is why Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors will be together in this game! Just as everyone's hoping for Lu Bu vs. Honda Tadakatsu, Cao Cao vs. Oda Nobunaga and Zhuge Liang vs. Takeda Shingen... Musou Orochi is the game that you MUST buy! By the way, feel free to download the wallpapers of Musou Orochi that I've added... They're not very good but that's all I can do for the fans!

This is all from koei warrior
so wei=bad guys
japanese people=good guys
the legendary zhao yun who escape changban got captured?
Sorry I double posted but I want people to see this tory. can someone edit this out after someone posted?

By now it doesn't need to. And at the very least, it would interest newbies in the other DW games, which would in turn introduce them to Chinese history. ;)

I'm amazed a mod hasn't locked one of the two threads yet. :)

I'm surprised you would post spam here instead of PMing a mod. :)

Here's the original information that was posted in the other thread, just for the sake of reference:

Athrun Zala wrote:And no, this isn't a hoax at all. This is entirely true. I think KOEI has decided to move the real thing to PS3, but before that, they decided to make an easter-egg game for PS2 which features both DW & SW characters.

信長と曹操が、孫策と蘭丸が絡み合うイベントシーンなどがあり世界観無視のお祭り的ソフトでしょうか。

Musou OROCHI
For PS2
By KOEI
Release Date: March 29
Price: 7140 Yen
Treasure Box released at same time

KOEI's Mystery Musou game has been revealed as a DW-SW crossover.
The story will be a mix in Wei, Wu, Shu and Sengoku.
Together they are aiming to defeat the Orochi.
The setting is Foreign World. There will be more than 70 playable characters (DW's 48 + SW2's 26 + SW's omitted 3 = 77, dunno about SW's 3 NPCs)

I hope he's okay!

That sounds a bit fantastic. But I find it typical that wie is antagonized. I certianly hope that the cross over does not do harm to the dignity of the characters.
