Musou: Orochi Discussion Thread

Discussion of other Three Kingdoms games (e.g. Destiny of an Emperor and Dynasty Tactics) and other games by Koei (e.g. Samurai Warriors).

As SunXia says use a R1 kill specialist to ace the officers most dangerous to your allies and a good horse. In my case i use Ieyasu and his "ghostbuster" R1 attack to the same effect. Try and take out an officer or 2 before taking on the engineers whilst you have the time as they will appear a lot more frequent and having all allies helps block there progress as the engineers tend to be reluctant at facing Zhang Liao, Xu Zhu and Xu Huang in combat. Once you take out the first engineer i would then prioritise beating the engineers and you should get it done in the one go.

Its not too hard when you realise the engineers appear in the same sequence every time you play (anti-clockwise if i recall) and from the same places so you can aid your allies if there really struggling and rush to intercept the engineers afterwords if its looking grim.

Mitsunari's special is really effective for taking out people fast!! For me, Sun Shang Xiang has one of the best crowd clearing abilities and Dun is just amazing!! I use those two mainly for when I'm getting Zhang Liao out of a tough spot!!

Of course, make sure your horse is with you always!!

I always thought that Mitsunari was a bit useless since his R1 deplets his musou even though he's a speed character..but thanks, Sun Xia, Skode, I'll try your advice!

It does deplete his musou, but when he's up, it's really powerful for a single attack!! And remember, the other two are speed characters too, SunShang is exceptionally fast for get to those tough messengers early before the others show up!!

If Mitsunari's R1 didn't deplete his Musou, he'd be totally broken. Even with it doing so, he practically is. The shockwave attacks are very damaging and unblockable. Doing it right in front of an enemy general will hit them with all the shockwaves, causing massive damage, usually wiping them out in a few shots. Even a superpowered Lu Bu or Orochi can be taken out with one Musou bar's worth of attacks.

They all spawn from the same side of the map as i remember (apologise as its been a while since ive played Orochi). Its a small map so as long as you face where they appear from you can pick them all off one at a time as they appear whichever direction they run too - doing so will be a doddle really if your taking it on with easy difficulty as they'll fall in just 2 or 3 hits. There are a few messengers overall however but you should manage without too much fuss if you stick to concentrating on them

It's true. I've done it... A lot.

The only problem I have with the game is that I feel like the horse is going the same speed as I would be... anyone else?
Pang Tong: So I wonder what this place is called?
Sign by road: "Place where Pang Tong gets killed"
Pang Tong: Hmmm... I have a bad feeling about this place...

He was one of my favourites in Samurai Warriors 2 even without this great special, now he just totally rocks!!

I guess we couldn't just judge the character by it outer looks..when I first saw him at WO, my thoughts are, 'Whaaaaat, another fan user??And his special attack deplets his musou??' *dump him in an instant*.
Any tips in getting the characters 4th weapon?Even after I maxed the level it's still pretty hard to play the hard mode...

Wu side - Battle of Wan Castle. Its small with plenty of health drops, a commander who holds his own and the boxes on the map ACTUALLY hold weapons. Mind and equip the Luck adding skill (Karma as i recall) and you should get at least one 4th weapon on a run through - i did it with maxed Karma and got everyones 4th weapons everytime i played through the map.

As for struggling with hard, keep to R1 spamming on officers rather than direct combat and mix the team well with characters you want 4th weapons for and character you can rely upon in combat. Also remember you can save in battle which can be a life saver as Zhen Ji and Pang De in particular can really pack a punch.
