According to previous talk and its existence in Japan for the past 6 months, SW2 does not an Edit Officer Mode.

Now my question is, what's so special about a simultaneous release (PS2+360) that would warrant a 6 month delay on part of Koei USA?! I think this is by far their most annoying move. Also, is it true that the PS2 version lacks a Japanese track? If so, that's just more insult to injury.

Yea, I'm starting to hate Koei USA...

Wait a tick..."starting"?

No. However Samurai Warriors 2 Empires will feature a create-of-warrior mode, that will even allow you the option to create a clan banner for your created characters.

Editted the title of this thread to "Samurai Warriors 2/Empires General Discussion" rather than just a single question and answer thread.

Technicalities!

Unread postby Darian_TruBlade » Sat Sep 16, 2006 5:15 am

First question: Does anyone know if, like the original, there will be the option to use the Japanese Voice actors (Xbox 360 version)?

Second question: In the event that the answer to the first is "no", does anyone know enough about the Xbox 360 to tell me whether importing a Japanese copy requires any form of modding or if the Xbox 360 is region free in any way, shape or form?

Thanks a bunch!

EDIT: After a lot of digging, the preview copies sites like IGN.com got didn't have an option for a japanese voice over. However, someone in a different forum brought up the possibility that setting the Xbox 360 console to Japanese might work.

Also, the Asian version of the game is not compatible with anything but Asian and Japanese 360s, but it is yet to be seen if the Japanese version can be imported without modding your 360.

Does anyone on this forum have a 360 who is also intended on getting this game?

Well i figured i shouldput this here instead of making a new topic. I just got Samurai Warriors 2 and it is pretty good. I like it better then the first one it just seems to be better made. Plus unlike the DW games it doesn't simply have the same levels changed around it has levels that weren't in the first game and expands on events that were inbetween levels in the first game. Plus with the new combos and such made this a good buy in my opinion.

I got the game. It's pretty fun, better than Dynasty Warriors IMO.

Well so far, I've only heard terrible things about this game, especially the new voice acting that Koei's so proud about.

If it ever reaches the PC in Japanese, I'll probably get it then.

Yeah.. the voice acting is horrible. I try to ignore it when I can, but... *shrugs*.

So I got the game on Saturday, and I agree, Samurai Warriors 2 is one of the best additions to any of the warriors series, so far that I'd say DW 3> SW2 > DW5 + SW > DW4 > DW2.

The game is extremely hard when you start playing - I nearly died several times trying to take on Tadakatsu as Kotaro. But there are some really good maps, and characters.
