I think that's Kessen III's major flaw. If not for the battle system the game would be absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the battle system is a large portion of the game. The cinematics, graphics all looked absolutely fantastic and the characters brilliantly displayed emotion. I loved the drama and comedy of that game. They should just return Kessen II's battle system though; perhaps make it more interactive. I liked how when you raided you got to control your character sweeping through enemies. I think they should expand this to more moves such that you can control certain attacks or maneuvers; perhaps even change formation on the field, pick some strategic tactics and let them fly with a push of the button. Of course skills like magic should be available as well and these would get more cinematic attention or something. If they stick with the Kessen III historical/fictional balance and maintain those slick graphics I think if they generate another game in this series it would be perfect. As for where the game's set I still prefer Japan, possibly even from a different period like the Taira/Minamoto clan feud. However I had a dream recently and now I think that the Three Kingdoms side, so long as all are playable could work out as well. Unfortunately that would be a really hard game to make and super-gigantic but maybe for PS3 it can be done.

Hey I need to ask for some help on Kessen III, this looks like the best place:

I am stuck on the mission where you have escort Princess O-Ichi to Azai Nagamasa. No matter what I do I can't get her safely to Pretty Boy (My personal name for Nagamasa). Can someone please give me some help because I want to move on SO bad!

Yep!

It's actually very simple. All you have to do is keep taking out enemies and focusing on guarding Oichi until you get to a gate/fence. Oichi's unit will move on towards her destination until she either gets there, gets defeated or an obstacle impedes her path. There is only one fence from what I remember in the level and once you get there order all your generals to halt and stand their ground. Full stop. Then take a unit (I think at the beginning of the level you can dispatch regiments on the West side of the map in addition to near Oichi) and clear out all the enemy generals on the map. When you think you feel ready to proceed, take down that fence, Oichi's bodyguards will move on and you'll win and get a good grade if you pulled off lots of skills and defeated all the adversaries and stuff. :P

I think the difficulty's nice and balanced. The beginning starts out fairly easy but things get harder as you go. If you choose to go through the game the second time (you can unlock an extra few levels, one decisive battle, new possible equipment and a medium amount of additional cutscenes in this case) you'll probably find new ways to beat levels and your adversaries. The first two Kessens relied mostly on using skills while in this one that's not as important necessarily (It's still uber-cool to pull off those wacky ninja moves though).

Where you fought Katsuyori? Or Shingen..? I beat Katsuyori by looking for assistance from this page.

Go down and find the mission, and follow everything thing to the bottom line. At least until the Takeda break your lines, I just let loose at that moment with a large amount of much stronger cavalry.

If you beat Shingen, what happens? I got incredibly close to doing this. I drew most of the army that appears automatically upon the battlefield out, and took them down one by one, and then with ranged units. I lost tons of troops during the two surprise attacks after you kill the fake Shingen. However I was still holding in at 7,000 troops, dispersed within three units. I charged Shingen head on, and got obliterated.. Any help/advice upon this Slick?

Shingen at Mikawa's a real toughie, even after you've beaten the game once and have the additional benefits of having some good weapons/items/skills the second play-through. I suppose it's best to just keep your units together and pound each adversary you come across with all your might. To be honest however I don't really advise trying to beat him your first game. I suggest just trying other levels for now Lyle and then doing Mikawa and Tedori River later on. The real Shingen (the one that's not his kagemusha) is super tough and is surrounded by powerful generals (I think officers like Nobufusa Baba and stuff). When you beat him though, the cutscene's really wonderful in my opinion...
