dong zhou are u talking about the battle at kyoto when the shogunate played out his master plan but it turned out to be and really bad one?...if so then i think i know what your talking about, i think your talking about the enemy unit that asked you to spare his life and he will give u something. u have to wait till he gives u the item and then u can kill him.

They keep making these Kessen games worse and worse... the story and look of the charatcers are making this more and more anime like, what happened to good old historically based games?

I am down right appauled by Koei's job this time! Hmph!

I actually really enjoyed kessen 3. and while I liked kessen 2, its was "Ridiculous". Here lemme just fly up into space and one shot god. However i wanted to know if anyone knew how to get Musashi? I know you can but im not sure how. I think you might have to kill him with a rampage or something.

Yes you do have to get him with rampage. Its hard though. The only time I've done it is on normal mode having levelled up one character as a supercharged rampage god. In Normal, Hard or Expert on first play through he killed me in rampage four times in a row, so I tried again on a new game... and he killed me again on Hard and Expert.

While its nice to have character completion, I only used him once in battle. His specialism is Katanas and they are not my favourite troop weapon of choice. I didn't even get him to do a Kessen attack in a rampage to see if they are different from the standard types...

Specifically yes, you need to beat him in a rampage duel at Kizukawaguchi or something like that. It's the really long name for a battle where you fight the Mori and your ships beat the crud out of their squads with cannons, making your job extremely easy. Musashi appears by the shore and you need to rampage and then beat him in a duel. Watch out though as his power is ridiculous.

No what? Back up your argument with support, reason or in the very least filler content...>_>

I must say I am really not impressed with Kessen 3. Kessen 2 was the game that got me into the Romance of Three Kingdoms (even though I found later that most of what was in the game was horribly malformed). But I liked Kessen because of the sheer scale. You could not control your forces fully. You could not control every soldier. But you could use your leadership to guide them. And the stratagy to try and outwith your openents (sneak attacks, ambushes, etc). But in Kessen 3... It is all gone. The game feels like Dynasty Warriors except less addictive. It is quite a shame.

I agree with you Blackest Waltz. While I enjoyed it in its own terms, it didn't feel particularly tactical, let alone strategic. I'm afraid after beating it on Expert mode twice, it has gone back on the shelf to be replaced by Ro3K VIII and DT.

While the first Kessen was very limited (not enough battles, story too short, graphics only moderate, AI pretty stupid), it is still much better for tactical gameplay. I was always a bit disappointed in Kessen II because of the fantastical storyline and the bizarre take on some of the characters.
