SGYYS Archives: Information

Unread postby James » Fri Jan 03, 2003 12:26 am

Greetings everyone. This forum contains the same sort of information normally found in the San Guo Yan Yi Symposium, but instead of new debates and informational posts you will find older posts that may have been concluded a long time ago.

Please feel free to make new posts to these threads, none of them are locked and they are all still open for debate. If you are going to debate in one though, please read all the original pages so conversation doesn’t go in circles.

If you want to nominate an addition to this forum please post in the nominations thread.

New threads may not be posted to this forum, it is only for archiving older threads so they don’t get buried and forgotten. Instead please go directly to the San Guo Yan Yi Symposium.

You can't. You may most them in the normal SGYY forum, and if you feel it to be good enough, nominate it in the nomination thread located in this forum. The mods of SGYY and admins will be the judge on as to whether it should be moved here.

Question: Does this forum do auto-pruning? And if so, are archived threads protected against it?

I do believe I have stubbornly refused to set up auto pruning on the SGYYS. I do know for a fact that pruning is not enabled on any of the Archives forums, they are immortal to time but not acts of God, fortunately I manage around the later well enough.

Does that apply to the whole forum? I was looking for a particular post of mine from a while back, and though it was there last week, it seems to be gone now. :\

Yeah, would apply to the whole forum. However, from time to time moderators will go through these forums and remove threads that are duplicates, they they feel won’t (or shouldn’t) return, or those which hold no long-term value to the forum. The vast majority remain, though.

I would suggest any of the following steps…

http://kongming.net/
(Use the search engine—make sure you are using the correct Pinyin names)

http://kongming.net/novel/sosz/
(Search for specific topics in the forum, or search by kingdom)

Sanguo Yanyi Symposium
(Use the Sanguo Yanyi Symposium Three Kingdoms questions thread—
If you are wondering about a specific officer, and have searched, feel free to open a new topic to learn more about them.)

http://kongming.net/links/
(There are many sites on the internet!)

http://google.com/
(Outside forum options, you’ve also got the internet at your fingertips)
