Here is a quote I noticed on a colleagues 'job' social networking account (we have a social network exclusive to our company):

"They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel." - Carl W. Buechner

Food for thought:

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

I love this quote.

I never really was a fan of the Dalai Lama, but that I must agree with.

"One must not confound a great city with a populous one." - Aristotle

Though I believe he was slandering large, bustling Persian cities, it applies quite well today. Mexico City may be populous, but it certainly isn't "great" as one would consider Paris, Los Angeles, New York City, or Shanghai in terms of history and culture.
"Remember upon the conduct of each depends the fate of all." - Alexander

"The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly." - Friedrich Nietzsche

God must love the common man, he made so many of them.

-Abe Lincoln

Love it for all the variants you can throw at it. God must love idiots, alcoholics, flatterers, naysayers, etc.

Now, now, my good man, this is no time to be making enemies.

-Voltaire on his deathbed, when asked to renounce Satan

On that note, Pancho Villa's last words: "Don't let it end like this, tell them I said something."

Also from Voltaire: "Man is free the moment he wishes to be."
I don't write fanfic, but if I did it would involve Zhou Yu and Zheng He fighting to win the heart of Lai Choi San. Then I'd make them join forces to fight Ming the Merciless, who secretly works for Master Li. I'd squeeze Lu Bu in there somehow.

Brother Dave Gardner opined of this quote, "Go up to someone and tell them they're common. See if they don't sock you in the mouth."

The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true.

As I believe this may be true, and fear so, I must be a pessimist. However, I also believe there has to be a better world out there which we have not yet found, so I believe I am still an optimist. :?
Please make it so this isn't the best world in the universe.

Men like the opinions to which they have been accustomed from their youth; they defend them, and shun contrary views; and this is one of the things that prevent men from finding truth, for they cling to the opinion of habit.
